I guess in and of itself, this is just part of the dog-n-pony sheenannigans which frequently accompany this stuff. But when coupled with Obama's penchant for personalized dramatic allusion, and grandiose symbolism, I believe we have a pattern to discern in much the same way that his history of dubious (even seditious?) personal & business relationships speak to the man's judgment.
