It's all over but the shouting....

What's that I hear? Just crickets chirping? Golly, it was darn near an ear splitting riot when defeat was eagerly awaited. But there's no bias in the MSM.

Al (mookie) Sadr and the Maliki government reach an accord on Sadr City.

The signatures put an official seal to a truce that was brokered over the weekend by the political representatives of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada Sadr and members of Prime Minister Nouri Maliki's governing alliance.

Under the deal signed today, all sides will suspend military activity for four days, after which Iraqi forces will have free rein to search Sadr City for weapons, bombs and fighters, provided they have a warrant. A committee supervised by Maliki will monitor operations and investigate any alleged abuses.

In return, the governing parties have pledged to open up more roads into the district, increase humanitarian assistance, compensate residents for their losses, and help the thousands who have been displaced to return home.

In short, mookie surrenders. But is it worth the paper it's written on? Time will tell, but my guess is mookie wants to distance himself from his 'military prowess'.

And what's this??! Frost warning in H3LL!! EM over at HA says the NYTimes trumpets the surrender on it's front page.

Stogie, anyone?
