Hookers aren't welcome, either, which is rather judgmental from a hyper partisan former junior senator who now demands that America reject "small thinking, prejudice and bigotry."
So, how expensive is this inaugural shindig? Obama's inauguration is most expensive ever at $160 million.
With America still at war, and headlong into soaring unemployment, and sinking stock market, plus projected trillion dollar debt, Obama's inaugural profusion quadruples 2005, yet the silence from the left is deafening.
"The federal government has budgeted $49 million for this year’s inauguration, more than triple what taxpayers spent at Bush’s first inauguration in 2001, according to the Office of Management and Budget."
$42 million was spent in 2005 for Bush's second inauguration and the Press ripped GW a new one for the 'extravagance' amid wartime. Not that there's bias, or anything...
But, hey, what's the difference of a hundred million dollars between administrations? Security expenses for President-Elect Lincoln v2.0's extravaganza are so great that President Bush has declared D.C. a FEMA disaster area. Yes, really.
"White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said Tuesday night that D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty had requested the declaration of the city as an emergency zone last week.The homeless couldn't possibly use any of that money.
Mr. Fenty has said the event will cost the city as much as $75 million. Maryland officials expect state costs to be more than $12 million."
All this while record low glow bull warming temperatures hold the North East in a frigid grip.Liberals are strangely silent about that dissonance, too.
But the Dems in congress are still focused on all the important stuff: Pelosi is open to prosecution of Bush administration officials.
Finally, in keeping with the Lincoln parallel, Michelle Obama to become depressed & schizophrenic. Really, what else is left to copy?
