From the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
"According to the county Department of Revenue website, McCaskill's total bill is $319,541. The county calculations includes four years of interest -- $79,453 -- and penalties of about $6,250.$319,541 dollars. That's a big chunk o' change, but McCaskill and her lawyer/developer husband have an estimated net worth of $15 million, so they might be able to scrape that together.
The final amount is still unofficial, pending confirmation by the State Tax Commission."
Maybe in her next political incarnation she can pay for her private trips out of her own pocket, instead of using a cushy expense account subsidized by 'Mr. & Mrs. Tax Payer.'
Oh, BTW: last month Sen. McCaskill, along with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) introduced a bill which would require all federal employees to be current in their taxes, or face termination. No word if the legislation exempts Congress from the requirements, but based on previous ruling class privileged behavior - Congress would probably be excluded from their own legislation.
