Disaster in Japan: How You Can Help

8.9 Magnitude Earthquake rocks Japan on Friday.
Tsunami floods miles inland.
Thousands missing.

Yet amidst the chaos and devastation, civility:
"Utility officials reported Saturday that more than 3 million households were without power, NHK reported, and that power shortages may occur due to damage at the company's facilities.

"We kindly ask our customers to cooperate with us in reducing usage of power," Tokyo Electric Power Company said."

The International Committee of the Red Cross can help you locate people unaccounted for at Family Links, which is coordinated by the Japanese Red Cross. But do not give money to the ICRC.
