Thanksgiving Proclamation from the President of the U.S.

And all the secular progressive, anti-theistic, revisionist liberals tear their hair, claw their eyes, and scream in collectivist unison at this horror.

WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANKSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

NOW THEREFORE, I do recommend and assign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed;-- for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish Constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted;-- for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge;-- and, in general, for all the great and various favours which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also, that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions;-- to enable us all, whether in publick or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us); and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.

Missouri Supreme Court Defies Precedent; Grants Collective Bargaining to Public Employees

Local governments and school districts cannot refuse to negotiate with public unions and must do so 'in good faith.'

Mo. Gov. Kills 8 Point Buck; Donates Meat to Food Bank, Bambi Lovers Cry

"Processing of meat donated by Missouri hunters is coordinated through a public-private program called Share the Harvest. Officials say more than 2 million pounds of meat have been donated since the program started in 1992."
It's what real men do.

But Bob Priddy over at MissouriNet has problems with the bloody sport, and asks, "do we have to refer to the hunters who go out and put a bullet in Bambi as “harvesting” deer?"

And Tony B. at TKC writes like a sissy-fied city boy to rationalize how killing bambi's mother is 'shameful' based upon some flimsy anecdotal whine about how city homeless shelters don't like deer meat, and it goes to waste.

Cry me a river. Good grief.

Harvesting. Hunting. Whatever. Get over it.

The common mule or whitetail deer is not ‘bambi.’ It is little more than an antlered rat that destroys cash crops, spreads disease, and causes your comprehensive rates to skyrocket -  if these antlered rats aren't managed properly – like a crop, which is then harvested.

And if someone doesn't want to eat free food, then go hungry. Or wait for Santa to fly in from D.C. with your designer entitlements.

Good grief.

The War on Pubic Hair

Oh noes! Will those eebil warmonger neo-cons never give it a rest??

Oh, wait...

A doctor explains why Americans' penchant for a hairless pubic area is dangerous to our health:
"Pubic hair removal naturally irritates and inflames the hair follicles left behind, leaving microscopic open wounds.  Rather than suffering a comparison to a bristle brush, frequent hair removal is necessary to stay smooth, causing regular irritation of the shaved or waxed area.
When that irritation is combined with the warm moist environment of the genitals, it becomes a happy culture media for some of the nastiest of bacterial pathogens, namely group A streptococcus, staphylococcus aureus and its recently mutated cousin methicillin resistant staph aureus (MRSA).   There is an increase in staph boils and abscesses, necessitating incisions to drain the infection, resulting in scarring that can be significant.   It is not at all unusual to find pustules and other hair follicle inflammation papules on shaved genitals..."
Wow. Is that sessy or what?

Gub'mint regulation in 3, 2, 1...

Presidents, Generals, & Giants of the Sierra Nevada

"The giant sequoia - Sequoiadendron giganteum - tends to live for many centuries, enabling it to grow larger than any other species of plant. The trees are naturally found only in a small area of the Sierra Nevada in California, nearly all of which is covered by the Giant Sequoia National Monument.

While they have been successfully grown in other areas of North America and around the world, nowhere have they been standing long enough to challenge the size records set by the Sierra Nevada giants.

They can live for up to 3,500 years, reaching heights comparable to skyscrapers."

More Thoughts on Early Voting

Many post-election postmortems have referenced the Obama campaign's superior ground game, which utilized everything from social media to myopic lap dog media, to turnout the 'obama phone' early voter in greater numbers - particularly in battle ground states, and specifically in urban areas.

To be blunt, the Romney campaign never knew what hit 'em in terms of the year long, vile smears perpetrated by Obama's sycophant surrogates for the benefit of  his 'kill romney' meme as a key ingredient in the carefully crafted tactic of early voting.

Friday Night Hoop-la

Phil Collins - Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)

Because I feel like being melancholy. Deal with it.

This song was one of the top-selling singles of 1984, and was nominated for an Academy Award. It's from the movie 'Against All Odds,' a remake of the 1947 classic, 'Out of the Past.' This 1984 version was directed by Taylor Hackford and features a smokin' hawt Rachel Ward, Jeff Bridges, and James Woods.

Jane Greer starred in 1947's 'Out of the Past.' She has a supporting role in this 1984 version as Rachel Ward's mother. Paul Valentine, who played hood Joe Stephanos in the first film, played a councilman in Against All Odds. Other supporting players in 'Against All Odds' include the late Alex Karras, Richard Widmark, and Dorian Harewood.

University Employees' Campaign Donations went Overwhelmingly to Obama

"Four of the top ten organizations whose staff donated to President Obama’s reelection campaign were universities, data released by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) reveals.
The University of California (UC) represented the single largest employee group to donate to President Obama’s campaign in 2012...
No institutions of higher learning registered as even one of the top twenty organizations to donate to Mitt Romney’s campaign."
In other words, keep priming the gub'mint teet you suckle from.

E-Book Reader, C. 1935, sort of...

Because 'Photo-Mechanical Reader' just don't cut it...

Michael S. Hart is the man largely credited with creating the first electronic book - in 1971. He typed his first e-book, the Declaration of Independence, while a student at the University of Illinois. Hart typed the text into a computer (a huge Xerox mainframe computer in the Materials Research lab), and sent out a message on ARPAnet (the fore runner of the internet), and announced it was available to download. Six people took him up on the offer. The world's first e-book was born.

Or how about a 1939 Plexiglass Pontiac? Although, I don't know why.

Need, Greed & Compassion

 This just in...
'Need' now means wanting someone else's money. 'Greed' means wanting to keep your own. 'Compassion' is when a politician arranges the transfer. – John Stossel

Obama Campaign Had Electoral Vision and the Republicans Wore Spectacles

"Ups and Downs of Campaign Obscure What Matters" is the title Dave Helling at the KC Star  put to his latest Op/Ed, published today.

Mr. Helling's 'pithy analysis' is an odd mix of self-congratulation for his correct prediction about the national election, and a lament about our national polarized politics that have become, well, nationalized; the result of which sucks the air out of the room for local down-ballot issues and candidates. The 'what matters' in his title, I think.

I believe Mr. Helling misses the larger picture about 'what matters' in the suffocating environs of an aggressively malignant nanny-state that attempts to micro-manage society by sucking gynormous volumes of tax dollars out of the economy, but I digress.

Inflammatory Ignorance: Shouting 'Disenfranchised' in a Crowded Polling Place

I ran across a disturbing post at the 'Uncommon Courage' blog entitled 'The Disenfranchised Voters in Grandview (Missouri).'

What I found disturbing was the blog owner states she's an attorney, yet the sophomoric level of 'awareness' concerning our local election laws, ballots,  and the boards which administer them didn't strike me as observations from a post-graduate, let alone someone who passed the Missouri Bar.

But most troubling was her inflammatory ignorance about the word disenfranchised.

For example:
"I experienced wonderful moments watching citizens proudly vote. I also watched heartbreaking disappointment when citizens of Jackson County were being disenfranchised by stupid rules."

Hurricane Sandy’s Death Toll at 43; Obama Plays Golf; Media Yawns

Katrina On The Hudson: “Imagine the howls if Bush played golf during the post-Katrina cleanup.”

Plus Modern Mad Max Capitalism for survival (link below).

From Yesterday's NY Post:
"Cops found the body of David Maxwell in his Staten Island home on Friday after it lay undiscovered for 11 days — with his neighbors thinking he had fled before the storm.

The 66-year-old lived alone with his cat — which also died — in the modest yellow, two-family house on Mapleton Avenue in Midland Beach. The home now stands in a flooded wasteland of trash, ruined furniture, mold and mildew."
The Staten Island death trap:
"Mr. Contrubis was one of eight people who drowned during Hurricane Sandy in Midland Beach, a small, low-slung neighborhood of one-story bungalows and newer two- and three-story houses. The eight lived within about eight short blocks of one another — apparently the highest concentration of deaths in the United States attributable to the storm,..."
Long Island now 2 weeks without power.  Anybody seen the President?

Hundreds take to streets to protest Long Island Power Authority. 'We are living like animals!'

Two weeks and no electricity: Brooklyn citizens feel abandoned after Hurricane Sandy. But where is the President?!

Once again: “Imagine the howls if Bush played golf during the post-Katrina cleanup.”

Obviously, Barack Obama doesn't care about New Yorkers. It's the only explanation. Right, Kanye? Or is all this not racial enough for you to get involved?

Of course, for the dark humorless, I'm being facetious. It's ridiculous to launch into spittle flecked tirades and adolescent hand-wringing to demand the potus be on the ground to micro-manage first responders and disaster clean-up over far flung expanses of the country suffering natural devastation.

Unless, of course you're a Bush deranged Liberal...

Modern Mad Max Capitalism - not dependence on gub'mint - is the morally correct solution for preparedness and survival.

Doing the most good: donate to the Salvation Army.

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

I take great comfort in this passage, especially in the face of foibles, frustrations and fights foisted upon the 6 billion inhabitants of this rock by presidents, princes, prime ministers and other self-important demagogues.

Jesus said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.'

Remember that come Nov. 7th, regardless of outcome.

PT 3: 2012 Missouri Ballot Recommendations

**Republicans Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan for U.S. President & Vice-President

Why? I am voting for Romney-Ryan(R) because there are probably two Supreme Court vacancies coming up soon, and the last man I want filling those vacancies is Baraka Obama.

You want more?

OK. Compare and contrast:

After the Election, Benghazi Scandal Will Explode

That's the title of an Op/Ed from the KC Star's token Conservative, E. Thomas McClanahan. He lays out an emotional plea as to why this whole Benghazi debacle stinks to h3ll:
"Why did no help reach the beleaguered CIA people? Why didn’t the administration boost security after the cable warning of terrorist groups in the area? Why did Obama and others cling so long to the fiction that the attack grew out of a spontaneous protest? More to the point, did someone knowingly leave these people to die, despite a real-time video of the attack?"
Of course, some comments from blind mice poo-poo Mr. McClanahan's conclusion of an exploding scandal simply because of his Fox News source.

Obviously, reality is perception.

From CBS News: Key task force not convened during Benghazi consulate attack.

From the WaPo: CIA timeline of the assault on U.S. facilities in Benghazi paints an anguishing picture of embattled Americans waiting for Libyan security forces who didn’t come and courageous CIA officers who died on a rooftop without the heavy weapons they needed…

From the Daily Beast: State Department never requested military backup the night of the attack.

All 3 sources are anything but right wingnut publications, yet the public still does a collective yawn at the word ‘benghazi’ - if they recognize it, at all.

I’d like to believe you, Mr. McClanahan, that this scandal will explode, but I’m afraid the political will to hold accountable the 1st Black president - who's a master at throw anyone under the bus CYA - simply is just not there, regardless of who wins the election.
