A Few Headlines

In his new book, 'Unfreedom of the Press,' Mark Levin makes a compelling case against modern journalism that has disgraced, perverted, and addicted itself to "self-censorship, group-think, bias by omission, and passing off opinion, propaganda, pseudo-events, and outright lies as news."

Examples from today's aggregate:

Iran is winning, but US has options, in Gulf crisis

In 1987 & 88, U.S. Navy Operation Nimble Archer and Operation Praying Mantis sent Iranian oil platforms, plus most of Iran's rinky-dink navy to the bottom of the Persian Gulf; last year Secretary of State Mike Pompeo cancelled the 1955-era Treaty of Amity with Iran; and despite the former potus Obama propping up Iran as the world's largest state sponsor of terror with an infusion of $150 billion, plus literally hundreds of millions in cash-on-pallets airlifted directly into the hands of the mad mullahs, last month, new figures demonstrate that US / International sanctions have crushed Iran's economy into a tailspin of recession.

In what universe is any of that 'winning?'

The Rise of the Illiberal Right
Et tu?, Quillete. Classical liberalism is what this author attempts to play off, but she misses her mark. She attempts to unpack the very public Sohrab Ahmari / David French-ism schism, but quickly confuses 'Illiberal Right' with the reality of 'no longer a battered doormat for Leftist authoritarians, so rise up & take arms, Hamlet.' I wrote at length about this subject here.

The author then vears off into the weeds of theocratic restoration, Catholic hegemony, LGBTQ 'rights', deliberate mis-characterization of the 2018 Masterpiece Cakeshop SCOTUS decision - for God knows what reason - only to wishcast in the end for us all to just get along - with the embrace of David French-ism.

We're being lied to and manipulated, people, on a daily basis on many fronts. Some are obvious clickbait sophistry, others are late night partisan pundits, and some, like directly above, are elaborate erudite ruses. It's not all fake news, but you can see a panorama of it from here.
