Remember that ten ton spy satellite projected to fall uncontrollably from orbit and smash to Earth - sometime early March? Well, it's actually only 2.5 tons, but who's counting? The Pentagon, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to blast it into little pieces with a missile.
The military will have to choose a time and a location that will avoid to the greatest degree any damage to other satellites in the sky. Also, there is the possibility that large pieces could remain, and either stay in orbit where they can collide with other satellites or possibly fall to Earth. Why I am thinking of a monkey with a handgun?
