Companies like oil giant Chevron, and American oilmen Oscar S. Wyatt, Jr., and David B. Chalmers, Jr.
In Oct., 2007, Wyatt pleaded guilty in the U.S. to federal charges that he paid millions of dollars to Iraqi officials to illegally win contracts connected to the United Nations oil-for-food program. Court documents show he had a working relationship with saddam hussein.
Mr. Wyatt is also heavily invested in the democratic socialist party, including maximum donations over the years to the DNC; Rep. Ken Bentsen; Rep. John Dingell; Sen. John Rockefeller; Sen. Tom Daschele; and Republican Sen. John McCain.
Mr. Chalmers pleaded guilty in Aug., 2007 to federal fraud charges in connection with oil-for-food kick backs to saddam hussein.
The trader, David B. Chalmers Jr., admitted that he and two companies he ran, Bayoil USA and Bayoil Supply and Trading, made millions of dollars in kickbacks to the Iraqi government — as well as huge profits — while trading oil under the $65 billion aid program.
Mr. Chalmers is heavily invested in the Republican party with maximum donations over the years to the RNC; Sen. Phil Graham; Rep. Jack Kemp; and various petroleum PACS.
Also in 2007, Oil giant Chevron ponied up $30 million in settlement fees with the SEC.
The Securities and Exchange Commission said Wednesday that Chevron had agreed to the settlement under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act without admitting or denying the charges. But the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York said Chevron could still be prosecuted for criminal tax violations.
Chevron, based in San Ramon, Calif., agreed to remit $25 million in profits and pay a $3 million civil penalty. The company will also pay $2 million to the Office of Foreign Asset Controls of the Treasury Department.
Hear ye. Hear ye. Hear ye. Now comes the Iraq Govt. wanting their compensation from these complicit crooks of saddam's corruption.
The civil lawsuit, filed on June 30 in U.S. federal court in Manhattan, seeks to recover damages from companies investigated by a UN-commissioned inquiry, claiming they cheated the Iraqi people out of benefits of the $67 billion UN program.
...a UN-commissioned inquiry headed by former U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker found the program was corrupted by 2,200 companies from 66 countries that paid $1.8 billion in kickbacks to Iraqi officials to win supply deals.
Yup. Ol' Geo. Boooshitler & deathstar Cheney sure solved nothing with their illegal war. Ain't that right, nancy?
