Former border agent re-sentenced in shooting.
" EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- A former Border Patrol agent convicted of shooting a fleeing drug smuggler was re-sentenced Wednesday to his original 12-year prison term.
The U.S. Attorney's office said a judge re-sentenced Jose Alonso Compean to 10 years for his conviction of using a weapon in the commission of a felony, plus two years for assault and other charges.
Compean and former agent Ignacio Ramos were convicted in 2006 of shooting admitted drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila and trying to cover it up.
They argued during their trials that they believed the smuggler was armed and shot him in self defense. The smuggler denied having a weapon."
Former agent Ignacio Ramos is serving an eleven year sentence.
"Aldrete, who admitted smuggling several hundred pounds of marijuana on the day he was shot in 2005, pleaded guilty earlier this year to drug charges related to two smuggling attempts several months after he was shot in the buttocks while running away from Ramos and Compean. The same federal judge who sentenced the former agents ordered Aldrete to serve 9 1/2 years in prison."
The aclu is silent. Michael Moore is silent. La Racist is silent. It's simply more evidence that liberals don't like brown people.
