The top 10 traded-in vehicles were American brands and 8 of the top 10 purchased vehicles were foreign brands."
Both Toyota & Honda manufacture here in the U.S. of A., which is a tax base & employment plus, but the profits go back to the country of origin, and are used to globally compete against North American based companies.
The state requesting the highest voucher dollar amount was CALIFORNIA,
The state requesting the lowest voucher dollar amount was WYOMING with $2,513,000; followed by ALASKA ($4,868,500) & MONTANA ($6,461,000).
The biggest losers, once again - Our grandchildren who have to pay the bill for this looting to incentivize debt for instant gratification.

"Beginning late this fall, the program authorizes rebates of $50 to $200 for purchases of high-efficiency household appliances. The money is part of the broader economic stimulus bill passed earlier this year. Program details will vary by state, and the Energy Dept. has set a deadline of Oct. 15 for states to file formal applications. The Energy Dept. expects the bulk of the $300 million to be awarded by the end of November. (Unlike the clunkers auto program, consumers won't have to trade in their old appliances.)"
Rebates? Like the 8 to 12 week wait rebates private companies make their customers jump through hoops for now? Gub'mint can obviously do that more efficiently.
