Bill Would Require all S.D. Citizens to Buy a Gun

"The measure is known as an act "to provide for an individual mandate to
adult citizens to provide for the self defense of themselves and
others."

The goal, I surmise, would be to improve the citizenry's ability for personal defense against the criminal element, and to reduce the financial burden of increased police presence, and that of other first responders, upon the taxpayers.

Of course, the bill would have to be passed before citizens could know what's in it.

Progressives will most certainly cheer such a govt. mandate.
