The 2nd one was over the obviously pointless, longest-in-US-history, 36 day partial government shutdown, in which House leader Nancy Pelosi(D) pissed all over Trump's trousers in exchange for a "conference committee, which will negotiate a border security agreement between Congress and the White House over the next three weeks." Translation: Nothing, just like the previous 40 years of 'negotiate' lies and obfuscation about border security. But at least we're spared the cynical pearl clutching and maudlin tales about 800K furloughed federal workers who will go back to work and receive all their back pay.

In a hurried world where busy people get their news from headlines, cyrons, and 30 second talking heads, the public saw Trump lose a pissing contest to a woman. Nancy Pelosi gave Trump nothing before the partial government shutdown. She gave Trump nothing to end it, except wet trousers. Trump claimed the shut down as his own, then agreed to end it, and threw away his only trump card. Sad.
