American Indians Found in Obscure 15th Century Vatican Fresco

The figures are men who seem to be dancing and are naked except for exotic-looking feather headdresses. One appears to have a Mohican-style haircut.
Pinturicchio created the work, which shows Jesus' Resurrection, in 1494, just a year after Columbus returned from his first journey of discovery across the Atlantic." Once they had removed layers of dirt, they noticed a group of tiny figures, almost in the middle of the painting.

*'Rag Mop' by Ralph Flanagan & his Orchestra (1950)
"Rag Mop" was a popular American song of the late 1940s-early 1950s. Considered a novelty song, the lyrics consisted mostly of spelling out the title of the song; because of the spelling used in the song, it is sometimes referred to as "Ragg Mopp."
This song was played on M*A*S*H in Season 9, Episode 6, after Hawkeye and BJ ordered a radio from the Sears Catalog. The song drives Major Winchester nuts as he is a strict classical music lover ("Those people can neither sing nor spell!")
Many bands and performers recorded this song, but only the Ames Bros. had a bigger hit with it than did Flanagan & Orchestra.

Three Dog Night - Try a Little Tenderness (1969)
This song has been recorded by dozens of musicians and entertainers over the decades, and no doubt Otis Redding's version in 1966 (the one Jon Cryer spazzed out on in 'Pretty in Pink) set the bar for shear R&B genius, but this remake by Three Dog Night in 1969 (which peaked at #29 on the Billboard Top 100) was what I learned from the AM radio gods during my misspent youth.

"I'll Follow the Sun" is a melancholy ballad written and sung by Paul McCartney. The song's lyrics center around a man who feels he is unappreciated by a woman, and gives her an ultimatum. The song was released in 1964 on the 'Beatles for Sale' album in the United Kingdom, and on 'Beatles '65' in the United States, but was written long before that year: a version recorded in 1960 can be found in the bootleg record You Might As Well Call Us the Quarrymen. The song is somewhat of a cult favorite.
'Beatles For Sale' was released on 4th December, 1964 just 21 weeks after 'A Hard Day’s Night.' It was their fourth album release in less than two years.
'Beatles For Sale' had been recorded on seven days scattered between August and October when their schedule was crammed with stage performances in the UK, Canada and the US, and well as radio and television work. Given the lack of time it was not surprising that the group reverted to the 1963 formula of eight original songs and six covers.

*Dr. Bill Pursell - OUR WINTER LOVE (1963)
"Our Winter Love" was written by Canadian trumpeter Johnny Cowell. He performed regularly with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and taught music theory at Vanderbilt.
Bill Pursell also played in Nashville, recorded many songs, and was nominated for two Grammy awards. Dr. Pursell joined the faculty of Belmont University in Nashville, where he is Assistant Professor of Music today.

Patti Page, the 'Singing Rage,' was the top-selling female singer of the 1950s with more than 100 million records sold. Her most enduring songs remain "Tennessee Waltz," and "(How Much Is That) Doggie in the Window."
Page was borned Nov. 8, 1927, as Clara Ann Fowler in Claremore, Okla. The family of three boys and eight girls moved a few years later to nearby Tulsa. Her father worked on the MKT railroad, while her mother and older sisters picked cotton to earn money. Patti recalled years later how the family went without electricity for many years, and she could not read after dark, yet her family was too proud to live in the poor houses or accept govt. handouts.
After graduating Daniel Webster High School in 1945, Clara Ann worked at Tulsa radio station KTUL, which had a 15-minute program sponsored by Page Milk Co. The regular Patti Page singer left and was replaced by Clara Ann, who took the stage name with her on the road to stardom.

Alive and Kicking (later known as Alive N Kickin’) is a Brooklyn band, led by singers Pepe Cardona and Sandy Toder. The group is known mainly for their 1970 hit single 'Tighter, Tighter,' which reached number seven in the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was written and produced by James and Bob King and arranged by Jimmy Wisner.
Other members of the band included Bruce Sudano, Thomas Woody Wilson (bass guitar), John Parisio (guitar), and Vito Albano (drums, live only).
Alive N Kickin’ is still active, specializing in parties and weddings. Keyboardist Sudano joined the group Brooklyn Dreams, and later married Donna Summer in July 1980.

Merry Christmas; A Celebration of Christ's Earthly Incarnation
O HOLY NIGHT - wonderfully performed by Josh Groban.
This is truly my favorite Christmas song because it ain't about Santa or toys or fighting Druids or Gaia worship or sparklies.
At its core, Christmas is a religious holy day celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ upon this earth. I'm puzzled as to why pagans, secularists, and anti-theists wish to indulge their hypocrisy by participating, however superficial or profane, in a Christian holy day - then denigrate and marginalize the very essence of the reason for the season, Jesus Christ.
Yet they'll gladly pocket the holiday pay.
Oh, well. I'm tolerant.

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.

"Santa Baby" was originally recorded by Eartha Kitt with Henri René and his orchestra in New York City on October 6, 1953. It was released by RCA Victor Records, and by EMI on the 'His Master's Voice' label.
The song was a huge hit for Kitt, and she later said that it was one of her favorite songs to record; she reprised it in the 1954 film New Faces. Kitt also reprised the original song in a 1963 re-recording for Kapp Records, with a more uptempo arrangement.
Eartha died on Christmas day, 2008. She was 81 y.o. Her official fan website is here.
