"African court on human and peoples' rights accuses regime of killing peaceful demonstrators."
Africa has a 'high court?' So what good is it on a continent mired in wars, famine, disease, corruption - and a thriving slave trade - in plethora of failed states run by jihadists, marxists, and bloody dictators?
I think a hint about the court's impotence and irrelevance might be contained in the court's name, which offers a distinction without a difference.
But, we'll give 'em an "E" for effort.
Flashback: In 2002, a junior senator from the state of Illinois named Barack Obama "said that using military force to topple a murderous dictator amounted to a “dumb war” and should be opposed."

About Last Night...
Obama. And his speech.
I did not watch it. I was preoccupied with yanking out a hang nail.
Although other people did watch, pontificate and fact check:
From the Washington Times: The President’s Speech. A dizzying dissertation of dissonance.
Boortz said it was a well delivered speech; void of substance, but well delivered(VIDEO).
And finally, the Progressive fascists prove they can read the writing on the wall, as they virtually ignore any reference what so ever to Pres. Obama's speech last night.
The Daily Kuss merey posted a pundit round up of opinions ( I expect such mediocrity from a no talent hack, like moi, but not from Moulitsas' monied minions).
The oddly named 'Think Progress' only mentioned some Palin gaffe about exaggerating the cost of the Libyan conflict.
And Alan Combs over in Liberaland wanted to make sure everyone understood that Obama was not the hated boooshitler.
But, what else can one expect when community organizers govern?
I did not watch it. I was preoccupied with yanking out a hang nail.
Although other people did watch, pontificate and fact check:
From the Washington Times: The President’s Speech. A dizzying dissertation of dissonance.
"All of these contradictions were of the president’s making and are the product of trying to preserve an exalted image that now only a few members of the White House inner circle still believe. The Nobel Prize-winning man of peace who expanded America’s wars; the champion of Muslims who only helps them when it’s convenient; and the great global leader who continually emphasizes America’s declining influence: What a long strange odyssey the Obama presidency has become."
Boortz said it was a well delivered speech; void of substance, but well delivered(VIDEO).
"Perhaps the one aspect of Obama's speech that bothered me the most was the realization that virtually all of the reasons Obama gave for intervening in Libya could well have been applied to Iran and several other middle-eastern countries. When the people of Iran rose up against their own Muslim dictators, Barack Obama decided we didn't have a camel in that fight. Why was it so different in Libya?Jeff Emanuel at Redstate says there was substance, but it simply highlighted our CIC's ineptitude:
Now that's what I would've liked to have heard last night ... Obama telling the American people why it was so important that we spend what will amount to over $1 billion to help the rebels in Libya when it was not important at all that we step forward to help the rebels in Iran. Perhaps the reason he didn't make a distinction between the two is because there is none."
"Even forget that this supposed “handoff to NATO” that Obama has been bragging about every chance he’s gotten is really just a handoff of Libya efforts by a coalition which is led by an American General, and whose only heavy military hitter is the US to…another coalition, which is led by an American Admiral, and whose only heavy military hitter is the US.From the UK Telegraph: Obama's muddled speech leaves Libya war aims unclear.
Concentrate, instead, on this one key fact: this American president, who ran on a platform of not being the Left’s caricature of George W. Bush (a fantasy character who ran headlong into wars with no planning, no Congressional authorization or oversight, no true mission, no exit strategy, no Plan B if things didn’t go swimmingly off the bat, and no real regard for outcomes or consequences), has run the US headlong into a war with no planning, no Congressional authorization or oversight, no true mission, no exit strategy, no Plan B if things don’t go swimmingly off the bat, and no real regard for outcomes."
"While stating that Colonel Muammar Gaddafi had to go, he clung to the fiction that this action was about protecting civilians and shrunk from committing US forces to finish the job by unseating its murderous ruler."The AP fact checks Pres. Obama's speech, and it ain't pretty. When you've lost the AP....
And finally, the Progressive fascists prove they can read the writing on the wall, as they virtually ignore any reference what so ever to Pres. Obama's speech last night.

Wisconsin Stops Withholding Unions Dues As Of Today
From WJ at LI:
"If the Legislative Council was right that the bill passage complied with Senate Rules, and since legislative Rules trump the Open Meetings Law, then the bill should survive court challenges and there should be no injunction, temporary or otherwise.

Florida House OKs bill Ending Union Dues Pay Deductions
With the usual democrat lackeys blathering on about 'union busting and class warfare.'
From an anxious AP:
The entitlement whining continues from the democrat lackeys who directly benefit from the campaign donations of these public sector unionists:
But, wait. There's more BHD; as in piled higher and deeper:
It's a distinction with a huge difference, sparky.
In the final analysis, I think the real complaint is these unionists will have to actually do some work in order to receive their money.
From an anxious AP:
"In a blow to public employee unions, the Republican-controlled Florida House passed a bill Friday that would ban payroll deductions of dues and require labor organizations to get individual members' OK before using their payments for political purposes.A "blow to public unions?" "Curtail the power of public unions??" Yes. It's such a tragedy when one cannot require other people to pay for funneling money into your bank account. It's almost barbaric.
The Florida legislation, which still needs Senate approval, is part of a Republican push in several states to curtail the power of public-sector unions that generally support Democratic candidates. The efforts follow GOP election gains in November."
The entitlement whining continues from the democrat lackeys who directly benefit from the campaign donations of these public sector unionists:
"Democrats responded that the legislation is about union-busting, class warfare and winning elections. "What's the real reason for this bill?" asked House Democratic Leader Ron Saunders of Key West. "Two words: political payback."Ya'll hear dat? Un-American! How dare those mean ol' Republicans make us do our own collections and book keeping! We had a sweet scam going on, and those mean ol' Republicans didn't wanna stay hood winked. Dag nabbit!
Union leaders pointed out that even the House staff analysis says the bill likely would make it more difficult for unions to collect dues for political and other purposes.
"The lawmakers who voted for this bill have signaled their desire to use the power of government to single out and attack the hard-working men and women who serve Florida in public employment," said Andy Ford, president of the Florida Education Association, the statewide teachers union. "It's simply un-American."
But, wait. There's more BHD; as in piled higher and deeper:
"Rich Templin, legislative and political director of the Florida AFL-CIO, said unions are unfairly being singled out because the legislation doesn't affect payroll deductions for about 300 other entities such as charities and insurance companies. Some of these groups make political contributions that dwarf those of organized labor, he said."What Mr. Rich 'cognitive dissonance' Templin doesn't explain about his convoluted conglomeration of 'charities, insurance, and union dues' is that charities and insurance companies do not directly negotiate terms of employment contracts with the government for the benefit of union members, and these charities and insurance companies payments are not required by law to be deducted from the paychecks of public union employees.
It's a distinction with a huge difference, sparky.
In the final analysis, I think the real complaint is these unionists will have to actually do some work in order to receive their money.

More Neo-Bolshevik Thuggery Shuts Down Detroit Bank of America
This time from the UAW, which didn't seem to mind huge gub'mint handouts in exchange for Obama campaign contributions, yet is unhappy about bank bailouts. Or something.
(this maybe old news to you, but it's new to me)
From The Blaze:
As stated above, all this is nothing new for these Neo-Bolshevik thugs. In May last year, about 100 bussed-in SEIU thugs used 'we know where you live' intimidation tactics to trespass upon the private residence of Greg Baer, a senior Bank of America executive based in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Baer wasn't home that Sunday afternoon, but is terrified 14 y.o. son was, and called the police to disperse the gang of thugs.
From CNN Money:
Still, I guess we should be thankful these Neo-Bolsheviks have not resorted to violence (yet), like their barbarian cousins in London, England this past weekend.
(this maybe old news to you, but it's new to me)
From The Blaze:
"Last week you saw SEIU protesters take over a bank in Stroudsburg, PA when they stormed a lobby in an effort to call out a CEO. Then you learned that a former (maybe) SEIU official hatched a secret plan to target JP Morgan Chase through massive loan defaults.
Now we have video of United Auto Workers (UAW) protesters staging a rally outside a Bank of America in Detroit on Thursday. The gathering was so large it shut down the branch for 30 minutes."The Blaze also reports that dictator luvin', multi-millionaire hypocrite, actor Danny Glover, and MSNBC on-air hater, Ed Schultz also participated in the screed fest.
"Now those strong-arm tactics, stirred by supposedly free-floating (as opposed to organized) populist rage, have come to the neighborhood curb. Last year it was AIG executives -- with protestors met by security guard outside. Now it's any executive -- and they're on the front stoop. After Baer's house, the 14 buses left to descend on the nearby residence of Peter Scher, a government relations executive at JPMorgan Chase (JPM, Fortune 500).Of course not. They don't have any respect for other's viewpoints. These Neo-Bolshevik thugs only seek to intimidate and oppress, not converse.
Targeting homes and families seems to put SEIU in the ranks of (now jailed) radical animal-rights activists and the Kansas anti-gay fundamentalists harassing the grieving parents of a dead 20-year-old soldier at his funeral (the Supreme Court has agreed to weigh in on the latter). But that's not a conversation that SEIU officials want to have. "
Still, I guess we should be thankful these Neo-Bolsheviks have not resorted to violence (yet), like their barbarian cousins in London, England this past weekend.
Kansas & Missouri Ranked the Worst for Job Losses in February

On the bright side, the 'worst' isn't as worse as it was last year, but just barely.
From the Kansas City (red) Star:
"Kansas and Missouri ranked the worst among all states on employment losses in February, according to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report.TY JC
The report, issued Friday, said Kansas had a net decrease of 12,800 nonfarm payroll jobs, and Missouri lost 10,100 from January to February. Kansas also ranked worst in over-the-year percentage decrease in employment, losing 1 percent, the bureau said.
On the upside, the jobless rate in Kansas last month was 6.8 percent, considerably lower than the 9.4 percent in Missouri and the 8.9 percent that was the national average in February.
The bureau said there were about 108,600 jobless workers in Kansas in February, down from 111,800 in February 2010. In Missouri there were 297,600 unemployed workers in February, down from 315,700 a year earlier."

Government School Safety Drill with "Anti-Immigrant Shooter" Canceled
In Treynor, Iowa.
Doug Reed, the lead exercise planner for the county’s Emergency Management Agency said the 'back story' for this emergency scenario had “nothing to do" with the continued political debate over immigration laws.
Oh. Of course not. And we have no reason to doubt the uber-pure motives of our ruling class betters.
But, apparently, the 'white, anti-immigrant, firearm fanatic' back story had something to do with obtaining the federal funding from Homeland Security for this exercise.
"Operation Closed Campus was designed to ensure school officials, emergency responders and support organizations are prepared in the event they face a school shooting, according to the Pottawattamie County Emergency Management Agency.According to the exercise plan submitted by officials, the 'back story' for this 'safety drill' went like this:
The agency, along with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program, distributed an exercise plan Wednesday to detail exactly how the drill -- to be held at Treynor High School and involving roughly 300 people, local police, hospitals and the Red Cross -- would be carried out."
"a white 18-year-old high school senior who “has been seen with anti-immigration demonstrators” and whose family “is known to be firearm enthusiasts, if not fanatics” starts a fight with a group of minority students “blurting racial slurs and that he is tired of them moving in and stealing jobs and money from Americans” then “pulls a handgun from his waistband, shooting one of the minority students.”Parents sternly objected to the obvious inflammatory political overtones, and contacted the town's mayor, the county board of supervisors, the Iowa legislature, and even the governor to voice their objections.

‘In God We Trust’ to be Posted on County Buildings in Missouri
From the Joplin Globe:
"No details have been decided on the where, how and how much. But the Jasper County Commission’s agreement makes it at least the fourth government entity in Southwest Missouri to approve Dee Wampler’s request. The attorney and author of the book, “One Nation Under God,” is working in tandem with a grass-roots national movement, started in California, that is asking elected officials to display the motto in government buildings.Earlier this month, SCOTUS refused to hear the appeal of atheist Michael Newdow challenging government's use of the national motto "In God We Trust."
In a letter to the commission, Wampler said the motto has been posted in about 200 public buildings so far and in Missouri, most recently in Branson, Marshfield and Buffalo."

Abercrombie & Fitch Selling Padded Bikini Tops for Young Girls

From the San Fran Chronicle:
Yet unlike the progressive fascists who scream and demand the police power of gub'mint to eliminate that which they object, Conservatives believe that the sane and rational choices of adults will prevail and this ignominious imposition of sexualization upon lil girls by clueless mommies will die a quiet economic death in the market place.

From the San Fran Chronicle:
"The popular fashion brand's new spring kids' line includes three bikini top styles, including the Ashley Push Up Triangle, that are all stuffed with padding.Indeed. Probably a message similar to the one girls get by being tarted out like Jr. Vegas Show girls in dance studios across the nation. A & F is simply allowing clueless mommies to take the "sex me up tot" look to the beach.
Abercrombie Kids is an offshoot of Abercrombie & Fitch, the popular fashion brand aimed at teenagers. The kids line is geared at kids ages 8 to 14.
While a 14-year-old might be ready to try a padded bikini, it's hard to imagine that an 8-year-old's cleavage needs enhancing. What sort of message are you sending a 2nd grader when you buy her a push-up top?"

Florida Judge Defends Decision to Allow Sharia Law to Decide Civil Case
Arbitration agreements are nothing new in civil law. In fact, they're quite common; product disputes, labor relations and even pre-nups abound, and basically fall into two types: binding and non-binding. Religious arbitration of civil disputes has long been used by Christians and Jews, subject to secular court review.
From Wikipedia:
Why? Precedent. As in 'toe hold.' Courts love precedent.
Despite the revisionists and naysayers, centuries of Christian Philosophy in the West gave us legal concepts of private property rights and the rights of individuals. Sharia Law is antithetical to those concepts, especially in regards to women's rights and religious freedom. Sharia's logical outworking is to subvert the very society whose liberalism it cynically seeks to exploit.
It seems plausible to me that this whole case was contrived by the two Mulsim parties to test the boundaries of the 'church/state' concept in law, and whether their innocuous foray into a U.S. court would get any traction. It has, and I believe another case involving Sharia law will soon knock on another court's door, with another matter slightly more serious, seeking arbitration. Under Sharia, of course.
Creeping from the Magna Carta to Sharia Law: In 2008, Sharia courts were officially implemented in five Mosques in Britain to arbitrate civil matters under Sharia law. From the Times of London:
And regardless of whether or not we Westerners misunderstand the nature or intent of Sharia law, these 'separate but equal' courts of Sharia law aggravate cultural discord, and discourage assimilation into the Western countries Muslims seek to immigrate.
Here in the U.S. of A., as a preemptive measure, 11 states - Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming - have introduced legislation to ban Sharia law as a basis for legal decisions.
Oklahoma became the first state to ban Sharia from being considered in state courts when voters passed a similar ban last fall. That law is currently on hold by a federal court order.
NPR has a very interesting transcript of a conversation with David Yerushalmi (who wrote the policy paper that sparked the legislation in Tennessee and other states) and associate professor of Islamic and American Law at Boston College, Intisar Rabb, which offers insight to the trouble with Sharia and U.S. jurisprudence.
In the final analysis, the trouble will come down to the distinctions in religious arbitration. For years, Christians and Jews have utilized the process inside the office of lawyers and paralegals who act as a tribunal to mediate the dispute and make binding determinations, subject to secular court review.
This is distinct from what we see burgeoning throughout Britain; Muslims insisting upon their own network of opaque 'separate but equal' courts of Sharia law inside their Mosques.
From Wikipedia:
"Arbitration, a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), is a legal technique for the resolution of disputes outside the courts, where the parties to a dispute refer it to one or more persons (the "arbitrators", "arbiters" or "arbitral tribunal"), by whose decision (the "award") they agree to be bound. It is a settlement technique in which a third party reviews the case and imposes a decision that is legally binding for both sides."Last Tuesday, Florida Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen defended his decision to uphold a binding arbitration agreement, based upon Sharia Law, between ex-trustees of a local Mosque who claim to have been unfairly removed by the current leadership of that Mosque. The Islamic arbitration ruled in favor of the ex-trustees. The current leadership appealed, which is why the matter ended up before Judge Neilson:
"From the outset of learning of the purported arbitration award, the court's concern has been whether there were ecclesiastical principles for dispute resolution involved that would compel the court to adopt the arbitration decision without considering state law," Tuesday's opinion said.Sounds fair and reasonable, and rather innocuous... if it was under anything other than Sharia law.
"The court has concluded that as to the question of enforceability of the arbitrator's award the case should proceed under ecclesiastical Islamic law," the judge wrote.
The judge noted in his opinion that he must hear further testimony to determine whether "Islamic dispute resolution procedures have been followed in this matter."
Why? Precedent. As in 'toe hold.' Courts love precedent.

"Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, whose Muslim Arbitration Tribunal runs the courts, said he had taken advantage of a clause in the Arbitration Act 1996.By 2009, there were 85 such 'courts' operating in Britain. They've ruled on civil matters from Muslim divorce and inheritance, to nuisance neighbors, to approval of polygamous marriage and enforcement of a woman's duty to have sex with her husband on his demand. These Sharia courts have also dealt with the criminal matter of domestic violence, while working in tandem with the police investigations.
Under the act, the sharia courts are classified as arbitration tribunals. The rulings of arbitration tribunals are binding in law, provided that both parties in the dispute agree to give it the power to rule on their case."
And regardless of whether or not we Westerners misunderstand the nature or intent of Sharia law, these 'separate but equal' courts of Sharia law aggravate cultural discord, and discourage assimilation into the Western countries Muslims seek to immigrate.

Jesus Christ, The Suffering Servant
Isaiah 53: 1-12*
"1 Who has believed our report?*While there are many passages in Scripture which have dual meaning and illustrate the life of Christ, in particular, or mankind, in general, I do not believe this is one of those writings. Some have argued that this passage represents the nation of ancient Israel, and not an individual person. I am not convinced. There are simply too many personal pronouns used, plus the uncanny resemblance to the life, conviction, & death of Jesus Christ leaves me convinced this is a prophetic and vivid description of a Risen Savior.
And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
9 And they made His grave with the wicked—
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors."

CAIR Sought Qaddafi Millions
That would be the Council for American Islamic Relations, the uber-Taquiya organization which ostensibly lobbies Congress and the media in order to cultivate advantages and perceptions beneficial to American Muslims. The FBI, and a once honest Justice Department simply label CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator with the terrorist organization, HAMAS.
Plus, in 2009, CAIR executive director Nihad Awad hailed Qaddafi as “the world Islamic popular leader," and then asked him for money. Apparently, CAIR is not too particular about which dogs it lies down with in order to get some fleas.
Qaddafi refused.
Not to worry, Mr. Awad. You'll always have Louis Farrakhan.

Sen. McCaskill (D-MO) Airplane Tax Bill to Include $80K in Additional Interest.
It's a Swiss-made Pilatus plane and has been quite troublesome for McCaskill as of late. Or rather her profligate misuse of tax payer dollars to fund her little outings on the machine, coupled with delinquent tax payments, are the source of the senator's troubles.
From the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
Maybe in her next political incarnation she can pay for her private trips out of her own pocket, instead of using a cushy expense account subsidized by 'Mr. & Mrs. Tax Payer.'
Oh, BTW: last month Sen. McCaskill, along with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) introduced a bill which would require all federal employees to be current in their taxes, or face termination. No word if the legislation exempts Congress from the requirements, but based on previous ruling class privileged behavior - Congress would probably be excluded from their own legislation.
From the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
"According to the county Department of Revenue website, McCaskill's total bill is $319,541. The county calculations includes four years of interest -- $79,453 -- and penalties of about $6,250.$319,541 dollars. That's a big chunk o' change, but McCaskill and her lawyer/developer husband have an estimated net worth of $15 million, so they might be able to scrape that together.
The final amount is still unofficial, pending confirmation by the State Tax Commission."
Local Radio: 98.1 KUDL will Switch Formats to KMBZ-FM Talk/News
KUDL started broadcasting on the FM dial in Kansas City in 1965. Since 1978, it's been an 'easy listening' contemporary music station.
According to Bottom Line Communications, KUDL will soon become KMBZ-FM and simulcast with NewsRadio 980-AM KMBZ, which is an all News/Talk station. That link is over to your left.
The imminent format change at KUDL is due to declining ratings.
It's a doctrine that's completely fair, and a teachable moment for NPR.

Russians Wish to Strip Obama of Peace Prize
Because, you know, being a contrived political rock star cashing in on perceived future wonderfulness just doesn't work out too well, sometimes.
Looky here: there's an olive pit in my tinfoil hat Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) wants to impeach Pres. Obama for waging war without Congressional approval.
No comment from V.P. Biden, who suggested impeachment of the hated boooshitler for the same reason.
But, wait. There's more. Like the usual suspects of a hate mongering racist; an obese neo-marxist film maker; and an uber green nutjob calling for Pres. Obama to step down.
Perhaps Pres. Obama could get some 'cabinet of rivals' advice from Muammar Qaddafi.

So what? There wasn't but a nickels worth of difference between these two politicians in this 'non partisan' (wink wink nudge nudge) mayoral race.
And ain't it curious how this AP story listed Mr. James' endorsements, but did not mention the endorsement from La Racist?

Sen. McCaskill (D-MO) will Sell the "Damn Plane"
You know. The plane she and her husband own that she billed the taxpayers $76,000 since 2007, and never reimbursed - until the story became public.
You know. The private plane she and her husband own and didn't pay personal property taxes - totaling $287,000 - for four years.
You know. The kind of stuff, if you and I did it, we would be in jail.
But now, she's whining about that "damn plane," as if it were so naughty.
McCaskill is an attorney, former state legislator, former county prosecutor, former county auditor, and current U.S. senator. She's not a stupid woman. Perhaps the solution, Claire bear, would be for you to pay your own damn bills, and quit sponging off the taxpayers.
And call your accountant once a year, fer cryin' out loud!
Thankfully, this has not been lost on the Missouri GOP: MOGOP files ethics complaint against ‘Air Claire’ McCaskill.

Homosexual? Want Freedom from the Addiction? There's an APP for That
The inflammatory headline for this story posted on Left tilting Yahoo News reads "Apple, Steve Jobs under fire for approving app that claims to cure homosexuality."
Of course, the APP purports to do no such thing, and logically, cannot do such a thing. What the APP does is promote Exodus International, a Christian Ministry. And Liberals want it banned.
Mr. Jobs, I say let the wireless APPnuts mess their diapers. Any reasonable adult knows that if the APP is not viable in the market place, it will die a quiet digital death. But we are not dealing with reasonable adults. We are dealing with progressive fascists, who are at best petulant adolescents, demanding that which they do not like be stopped; silenced; eradicated.
I guess they're "more culturally tolerant" that way.
Of course, the APP purports to do no such thing, and logically, cannot do such a thing. What the APP does is promote Exodus International, a Christian Ministry. And Liberals want it banned.
"The Exodus ministry seeks to promote the "ex-gay" movement—promulgating the testimony of people who claim to have been cured of homosexuality through Christ. The target audience for the smart-phone app, its makers say, are "homosexual strugglers." The idea is to teach gay people that they have a choice when it comes to their sexuality, a choice to choose "freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus."Obviously, because these wireless APPnuts are "more culturally tolerant," except, of course, when they're not, and are simply being aggressive religious bigots. Or opposing freedom of speech.
Of course, providing a tech platform for a particular spiritual or ideological movement doesn't signify an endorsement of its point of view. At the same time, however, as Gawker's Ryan Tate noted during an earlier controversy over a gay-themed app, "every time Apple approves an app, it implies moral endorsement of the content of that app."
And since average Apple user is younger and more culturally tolerant of homosexuality, word of the Exodus app has sparked a fast-growing protest. As of this writing, more than 100,000 people have signed a Change.org petition calling on Apple to abolish it. What's more, some who've purchased it are somewhat baffled by it."

Hillary Opposed Bush's War before Being Really Gungho for Obama's War
From P.I. in the GR:
Barkers. Clowns. And sideshows. Pass the popcorn.
"Whatever Mr. Obama’s political calculus, it’s important to note his Secretary of State’s evolution on the issue of American action in the face of mass killings occurring in our presence. And then, there's this from the uber-leftist The Nation: Obama's Women Advisers Pushed War Against Libya.
During an interview with the New York Times on March 14, 2007 — almost exactly four years ago — presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was asked whether American troops on the ground should intervene if sectarian fighting in Iraq devolved into outright ethnic cleansing. The short answer: No, they shouldn’t. It was an Iraqi conflict that Iraqis should solve for themselves."
"The press is full of reports about how Clinton, Rice and Power pushed Obama to war. The New York Times, citing insiders, reports that Obama shifted to intervention in Libya only under pressure from the trio: “The change became possible, though, only after Mrs. Clinton joined Samantha Power, a senior aide at the National Security Council, and Susan Rice, Mr. Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations, who had been pressing the case for military action, according to senior administration officials speaking only on condition of anonymity.”Well, looky here. First, Pete. Then, Repeat. Now, retaliation: Uber green nutjob Ralph Nader wants to Impeach Obama for 'war crimes'.
Similarly, the Washington Post reports that yet another administration woman, Gayle Smith, joined Ben Rhodes and the troika of other women to push for war: “Obama’s decision to participate in military operations marks a victory for a faction of liberal interventionists within the administration, including Rice, Rhodes and National Security Council senior directors Samantha Power and Gayle Smith.” Opposed, or leaning against, were Secretary of Defense Gates, Tom Donilon, the national security adviser, and John Brennan, Obama’s counterterrorism chief."
Barkers. Clowns. And sideshows. Pass the popcorn.
Oh, BTW, Hamas Terrorists Fire 2 Rockets and 50 Mortars into Southern Israel
But it's no biggie. Just an act of war against Jews. Nothing to see.
From those terrorist sympathizers at the AP:
The AP continues:
From those terrorist sympathizers at the AP:
"JERUSALEM (AP) -- Palestinian militants fired two rockets into southern Israel on Sunday and Israeli troops killed two Palestinians in a new outburst along the volatile border with Gaza.Notice that the AP only attributes 'the violence' to IDF reprisals, not the initial mortar bombardment by Hamas. Also note the AP terms the 2009 IDF offensive as 'bruising, with no mention what so ever of the murderous rocket barrage launched by Hamas which precipitated the invasion.
The violence came a day after Palestinian militants fired more than 50 mortar shells into Israel - the heaviest Palestinian barrage since a bruising Israeli military offensive in Gaza two years ago."
The AP continues:
"Hamas has ruled Gaza since seizing power in a five-day civil war against the rival Fatah in 2007. As a wave of pro-democracy unrest reverberates through the region, both sides have faced growing calls to reconcile. Fatah, led by President Mahmoud Abbas, controls only the West Bank.In 2009, President Obama awarded $900 billion of your tax dollars to these murderous pigs. Thanx, Barry!
On Saturday, Hamas police assaulted protesters and journalists at a demonstration calling for reconciliation. New York-based Human Rights Watch criticized Hamas for Saturday's crackdown, and a similar one at a demonstration last Tuesday."

Bush's War Against Brutal Dictator: BAD; Obama's War Against Brutal Dictator: Righteous
From Verum Serum:
But an obese, multi-millionaire, neo-marxist propagandist doesn't appreciate the scenery.
"Ah, but the President has a clear rationale in the case with Libya – right? Sure he does. A rationale that boils downs to the fact that Gadhafi is a brutal, ruthless dictator who is threatening to butcher his own people. (People, it might be noted, who have taken up arms in an attempt to butcher him.)
And like with Saddam, Gadhafi poses no imminent threat to the United States or to his neighbors. And also like Iraq, critics have noted that we are now faced with a military engagement of undetermined length, cost, and consequences.
The key difference in this case, is that these critics do not include Barack H. Obama."Apparently, the shortest route from 2002 to 2011 is through a Liberal's mind.

Gadhafi Vows 'long war' as Strikes Hit his Forces
"Sunday night, heavy anti-aircraft fire erupted repeatedly in the capital, Tripoli, with arcs of red tracer bullets and exploding shells in the dark sky _ marking the start of a second night of international strikes. Gadhafi supporters in the streets shot automatic weapons in the air in a show of defiance. It was not immediately known what was being targeted in the new strikes.
Libyan army spokesman Col. Milad al-Fokhi said Libyan army units had been ordered to cease fire at 9 p.m. local time, but the hour passed with no letup in military activity.
Gadhafi vowed to fight on. In a phone call to Libyan state television Sunday, he said he would not let up on Benghazi and said the government had opened up weapons depots to all Libyans, who were now armed with "automatic weapons, mortars and bombs." State television said Gadhafi's supporters were converging on airports as human shields.
"We promise you a long war," he said.
He called the international assault "simply a colonial crusader aggression that may ignite another large-scale crusader war."
After Demanding "No fly Zone," Arab League Criticizes U.N. Strikes on Libya
From a conciliatory AP:

The U.N. authorized not only a no-fly zone but also "all necessary measures" to protect civilians.Sorry, Arab League, but murderous dictators are not intimidated by moonbeams and unicorn farts.
Amr Moussa says the military operations have gone beyond what the Arab League backed."

SCOTUS Upholds Ruling in Favor of Badger Catholic Student Group vs U. of Wis.-Madison
From the ADF:
"Separation of Church & State" is the oft misunderstood and misapplied cry for suppression of religious expression, and does not hold at what is ostensibly a free and open market place for ideas - the public university.
But, sadly, this may not be the end to academic religious bigotry in this matter.
"In September 2010, the 7th Circuit ruled in Badger Catholic v. Walsh that University of Wisconsin-Madison officials violated the First Amendment by refusing to fund certain events of Badger Catholic, a registered student group, while providing funding for the events of other student organizations.
The university refused funds from student activity fees because the student group’s events contained religious expression, including prayer, worship, and proselytization. The 7th Circuit affirmed lower court rulings that concluded the funding refusal amounted to unconstitutional discrimination based on viewpoint."Agreed. Either deny equal access to funding for all groups, or allow equal access to funding.

The Full Armour of God
Ephesians 6: 10-20
"10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."

Messenger Spacecraft Enters Successful Orbit Around Mercury
From Wired Science:
A few facts:
Mercury to Sun - anywhere from 28 million miles to 43 million miles
Earth to Sun: 93 million miles
Temperature range on Mercury: 800°F to minus 280°F (brrr)
Mercury's Rotation rate: 58 Earth days
One revolution around the Sun takes 88 Earth days
Mercury's diameter is just slightly larger than Earth's moon.

"Engineers at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland, 96 million miles from Mercury, received the signal confirming that Messenger (MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry and Ranging) had completed its final maneuver at 9:10 pm EDT (Saturday).Amazing clockwork precision! Both on the part of NASA scientists and our solar system, as if by design. An even more spectacular feat was sending such a craft almost directly at our Sun and not have the Sun's enormous gravity hijack the craft to its doom.
To slow down enough to get caught in Mercury’s gravitational field, Messenger fired its main thruster for 15 minutes. The burn slowed the spacecraft by 1,929 mph and used up 31 percent of its original fuel supply.
After finishing the burn, Messenger rotated to face the Earth by 9:45 p.m., and started transmitting data. Engineering and operations teams confirmed the maneuver went according to plan.
The event marks the end of a 6½-year journey for Messenger, which has made 12 laps around the solar system, two flybys past Earth, one past Venus and three past Mercury since launching in August 2004."

Some County Judge in Wisconsin Halts Collective Bargaining Law
Ostensibly, because the legislative committee violated the state’s open meetings law.
From the Journal Sentinel:
Just wondering.
WJ at LI unpacks this dubious ruling in his usual concise manner.
From the Journal Sentinel:
"The judge’s finding – at least for now – is a setback to Republican Gov. Scott Walker and a victory for opponents, who have spent weeks in the Capitol to protest the bill.Uh, ok. But if the legislature re-acts to re-pass the law, will the fleebaggers re-flee?
Asst. Atty. Gen Steven Means, who was part of the state's legal team, said after the ruling that "we disagree with it."
"And the reason they have appellate courts is because circuit court judges make errors and they have in this case." Means said the state would "entertain an appeal."
"If the Legislature decides to go back and re-act on these provisions, they have the right to do that. And we will see what happens," he said.
Just wondering.
WJ at LI unpacks this dubious ruling in his usual concise manner.
"It is hard to see how there is a likelihood of success on the merits, particularly if the Judge found no clear violation of any law or Senate Rule, but merely some vague conception of "public policy." The Senate clerk already has stated that the procedures used complied with the Senate Rules, and Courts normally to not interfere in a legislative branch's interpretation of its own rules. But in the wake of this dubious ruling, will the Neo-Bolsheviks make things more ugly?
And let's keep in mind, that no amount of notice would have made a difference, because every single Democratic Senator had fled to Illinois and was refusing to attend any votes."

Wisconsin Neo-Bolsheviks Issue More Death Threats, Intimidation
This time in La Crosse, on the west side of the state.

Indeed.
From WTAQ:
"Wisconsin Senate Republican Dan Kapanke has called off public meetings in his La Crosse area district, after his property was vandalized and had death threats....The Blog Father offers a sensible solution to these vile, hate mongering Neo-Bolsheviks: "If it were me, I’d respond by introducing a bill abolishing public education entirely and replacing it with vouchers. Kapanke is one of the 8 Republican senators targeted for recall, for his vote in favor of the bill that virtually ends collective bargaining for most public employee unions.
The state Justice Department is investigating e-mail threats against Governor Scott Walker and the 8 targeted senators. One message said in part, “If you and your goonies feel that it’s necessary to strip the rights of 300,000 people and ruin their lives, we will get rid of the eight of you.”

Parents Fight for Better Schools, Congress Fights to Keep Kids in Failing Schools
From Kevin P. Chavous, chairman of the Black Alliance for Educational Options:
"At a hearing before a U.S. House of Representatives oversight committee to discuss the future of the highly effective D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program, there were dozens of African-American and Latino children who came to support the program. The OSP, which provides low-income children with access to private schools, has been remarkably effective at increasing parental satisfaction and student graduation rates. As a result, it has been a lifeline to many D.C. children — 90 percent of whom are African-American and 100 percent of whom are low-income.Because democrats hate poor, mostly Black school children. It's the only answer. Or perhaps it's simply a matter of political payoff to union cronies.
But at the hearing, students watched as members of the Congressional Black Caucus simply deferred to D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, a longtime opponent of school choice and the OSP, as she railed against the program.
Later, Delegate Norton, in her partisan zeal, obliquely referred to children who participate in the program as “lab rats” of Republicans, and argued that her constituents in D.C. only support the program because they’ll take any “free money” that can be “passed out” to them. It was a shameful and ignorant thing to say, especially considering that four years of parental focus groups on the Opportunity Scholarship Program shattered the myth that low-income parents cannot make informed decisions about where to send their children to school.
The children who attended this hearing were shocked to see their own congressional delegate and members of the Congressional Black Caucus speak against their program. After wards, one of the children even asked, “Why don’t the congressmen who look like us want us to go to better schools?”

Does President Obama Have a Bogus Social Security Number?
From Jack Cashill:
Update: TY L for the front page link luv."All I can say,” says Daniels of 042-68-4425, “is that it’s phony and [Obama] has been using it, with it first appearing on his selective service document in 1980.”
Daniels sent me a copy of the hand-written application of the individual who held the number immediately before Obama’s, 042-68-4424. The applicant, Thomas Wood, died at age nineteen which is why his information is available.
Wood's Social Security number was issued sometime between March and May of 1977. Obama would turn sixteen in August of that year. Woods lived on Glenview Drive in Newington, Connecticut, the state from which all “042s” applied. Obama lived in Hawaii.
True to form, the left-leaning media set out to undermine the Social Security controversy and ridicule the investigators. Revealing, however, is the weakness of the response."

Missouri House Approves Bill for "English Only" Driver's Exam
HR 167 now goes to the Missouri senate. This legislation seeks to eliminate the eleven printed language versions of the driver's exam, and the seven online language versions currently offered by Missouri, at an estimated savings to the tax payers of $53,000/ year.
The foreign languages currently catered to include Bosnian, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
I guess our foreign guests who only speak Tagalog, Albanian, Thia, Burmese, Sanskrit, Arabic, Tajik, Dutch, Hebrew, French, Somali, Swedish, and Australian are simply out of luck. But, fortunately, the current provision to allow foreigners to hire interpreters at their own expense to take the license exam will remain.
Rep. Jerry Nolte, R-Gladstone, who sponsored the Missouri measure, said all drivers need to understand English to be able to read road signs and follow driving laws.
Rep. Mark Parkinson, R-St. Charles, said drivers should learn English as part of their transition to American culture. “Driving is a privilege, not a right,” Parkinson said. “Part of that privilege is to take the test in English.”
Opponents of the legislation trotted out the usual agitprop of "nativism, xenophobia, and bigotry," as if it's to be expected that one's chosen host country should bend over backwards in order to accommodate whatever predilections are presented.
If signed into law, Missouri would join Oklahoma, Wyoming and Utah with an "English only" provision for taking the driver's license exam. Oklahoma pursued the English only law after an Iranian immigrant sued to have the exam administered in Farsi. Oklahoma was concerned that this could open a flood gate of lawsuits to force the tax payers to foot the bill for printing any number of different exams into the world's nearly 300 major languages.
The U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Civil Rights ruled in April 2010 that the Oklahoma case did not discriminate against the Iranian immigrant on the basis of national origin.
Wisconsin Neo-Bolsheviks Employ Children in Their Climate of Hate
The object of that hate being the legitimately elected Governor of Wisconsin.
Althouse wants to know if these teachers are so obtuse as to think the actions of defiance and disobedience being taught to these children won't someday turnabout and rend the teacher's authority in the classroom? (VIDEO)
But more immediate, when does this become child abuse, or at a minimum, a violation of child labor laws?
Just wondering...

IDF Intercepts Ship From Turkey Loaded with Iranian Armarments Bound for Gaza
"Turkey created a diplomatic furor the last time Israel interdicted a flotilla attempting to run the blockade, accusing the Israelis of attacking Turkish nationals illegally in international waters. The incident finally fizzled out after a few weeks, but the diplomatic damage between Israel and one of its few friends in the Muslim world was irreparably damaged, it appears."Yup. And it's Turkey again that exacerbates the situation.
But there's nothing for Jew-hating Liberals to see on the nightly news or read about in the New York Times.
Move along.
Are Female Competition Surfers Judged More on Looks than Skill?
That's inconceivable.
From the down-under Courier Mail:
From the down-under Courier Mail:
"Former world champion Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew laughed off suggestions that judges were influenced by looks, but warned of the dangers of swimwear labels using female competitors rather than models.Yup. Wetsuits are so last century.
"These young blokes are full of testosterone. I think women surfers are taken more seriously based on their performances. Stephanie Gilmore is leading-edge; she's taken women's surfing to a new plateau," Bartholomew said.
But it was no longer just Joel Parkinson, Kelly Slater and Taj Burrow selling the surfing industry to the world, he said.
"The firms have used models to sell the dream. The bridge is closing now. Steph Gilmore has just signed a five-figure lucrative deal with Quiksilver," Bartholomew said. The veteran surfer pauses when asked about "the Kournikovas" and is brutally honest about what is not being worn in the surf.
"The ultimate freedom in the surf is boardshorts and board nothing else. The less the better," he said. "Some girls are much more flamboyant about it."

From One Pakistan:
"Lahore,The Council of Islamic Ideology in Pakistan has protested the use of padded and colourful bras by Muslim women, and recommended that Pakistani Muslim researchers should try to invent an innerwear that makes female assets unnoticeable. These clowns need to get a life... and that don't mean blowing up someone else's life!
The council also invited shop owners who were in the business of importing and selling female underwear, advising them to bring lingerie samples, so that the council could see about what the protesters were angry."

The scandal revolves around alleged collusion between the Dept. of Education and Wall Street trying to influence regulation of a federal program known as "Gainful Employment:
"U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson(R-PA) has continued thorough oversight of the administration’s regulatory proposals and program funding, in particular those related to Gainful Employment, a process that would impose arbitrary requirements on proprietary schools and deny access to thousands of higher education students, and has recently drawn bipartisan opposition.TY IP
In May 2010, Thompson requested the DOE to vacate the proposed regulations and recently worked with a bipartisan group of colleagues to pass House Amendment 214, an amendment to the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2011, which would prohibit funds to be used by the DOE to implement regulations on Gainful Employment." "Even the smart kids at Harvard failed the test, scoring on average 69, which is a D. Since the vast majority of the students tested are products of public schools, the results represent a comprehensive indictment of public education, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers.Wanna know how you match up against those pointyhead, know it all, yet truly obtuse college students? Well, take the test to find out if you're a Barbarian, Philosopher King, or something in-between. No googlaging!
These are the people who year after year graduate classes in which one of every four kids cannot read at even a basic level. If you can't read the Constitution, or the Declaration, or The Federalist Papers, you won't understand their essential concepts or why they represent so much wisdom.
When even our elite colleges and universities aren't teaching the next generation the basic concepts of the American republic like federalism or the difference between Thomas Jefferson and Karl Marx, it ought to be obvious that American public education is failing American democracy."

Maryland Homosexual Marriage Bill Dies with No Final Vote.
"A loose coalition of Democratic legislators failed to cobble together enough votes to overcome opposition from Republicans and religious groups, including the Catholic church and many black congregations, to make Maryland the sixth state to legalize gay marriage.Thankfully, it was a merciful death.
Lawmakers had planned to vote on the bill in the House, but it was withdrawn instead Friday and effectively killed for the year."
ABC Television Green Lights "Good Muslim Bitches" Television Show
Oh noes they dinnit! That would be so un-PC, hateful and intolerant. Plus, it's an open invitation for some jihadist to make a bloody mess of ABC's parent corporation, the Walt Disney Company.
But "Good Christian Bitches?" Now, that's entertainment. Blatant religious bigotry right in your living rooms. Fun for the whole family!
Plus, ABC has another show in the works entitled "Don’t Trust the B*tch in Apartment 23." Why does the Walt Disney Company / ABC hate women and Christians?

The Parable of the 5 Wise Virgins and the 5 Foolish Virgins
Matthew 25: 1-13
1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise.
3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.
4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.
5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Detroit Named the "most spitting-mad metropolis"
So says Men's Health magazine:
"The newest title is just one of many for the city with high crime and unemployment rates higher than the state average. In recent years,Detroit has ranked high on lists such as the most violent city, fattest city and most illiterate city."And its been run by Democrats for the last 60 years. Causation or correlation?
Arctic Ocean Warms, Icebergs Melt, Wildlife Threatened
Anyone seen Algore? The world is doomed and climate change is to blame.
From the Washington Post:
From the Washington Post:
"The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consul Ifft, at Bergen, Norway.Uh, that would be the WaPo in November, 1922.
Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers, he declared, all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone."
Semen Makes Women Happy
So says a new study from the State University of New York:
No comment."But is it really the semen that affects women's mood? The researchers say they looked at alternative explanations such as whether women who seldom use condoms took oral contraceptives, how often they had sex, the strength of relationships, and the possibility that having a certain type of personality influenced the decision to use condoms. But none of these factors can explain their findings, they say.
In fact, the results aren't a complete surprise because semen does contain several mood-altering hormones, including testosterone, oestrogen, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinising hormone, prolactin and several different prostaglandins. Some of these have been detected in a women's blood within hours of exposure to semen."

Sen. McCaskill(D-MO) Billed, Repaid Taxpayers for Flights on Private Plane
From Ben Smith at Politico:
Right, claire bear?
"McCaskill spokeswoman Maria Speiser conceded that the bill was inappropriate, and had no immediate explanation for how it had come to be submitted as an official expense."Feels embarrassed." But, apparently, not embarrassed enough to repay the $76,000 billed to the tax payers since 2007 until this story became public.
"It appears that a mistake may have been made here," Speiser said. "Fortunately those payments have already been returned."
McCaskill "feels embarrassed by the situation, but ultimately is glad that it’s already been fixed," Speiser said, referring to the fact that McCaskill had reimbursed the treasury for the entire group of flights earlier this week."

Three Cheers for Jack Cashill
From Herbert Meyer at The American Thinker:
"...in Deconstructing Obama, it is just as preposterous to believe that President Obama actually wrote his lyrical, extravagantly praised autobiography, Dreams from My Father. On page after page, chapter after chapter, Cashill shows why it simply isn't possible for Obama to have produced such a high-quality autobiography."
