Muslim leader drops complaint against Journalist

Remember Ezra Levant? He was one of the few publishers in Canada to reprint the notorious “Mohammed cartoons”. Calgary Muslim leader Syed Soharwardy filed a complaint with the Alberta Human Rights Commission to complain harass persecute.. For his troubles, Mr. Levant was forced to appear before that commission to explain why offending the delicate sensibilities of sharia-minded imams is legal, legitimate and necessary. I guess the obtuse members of that Kafka-esque commission forgot a little something called 'freedom of speech & freedom of the press'.

Well, Calgary Muslim leader Syed Soharwardy says he is withdrawing his Alberta Human Rights Commission complaint against former Western Standard publisher Ezra Levant. For his troubles, Mr. Soharwardy will be sued.

Mr. Levant said he plans to launch a civil lawsuit against Mr. Soharwardy to recover the tens of thousands of dollars he said he has spent battling the complaint. "I put in at least 100 hours fighting this guy. He may want to run away from this issue, but I'm not going to. (Mr. Soharwardy's) values are out of synch with Canadian society."
Finally. A good use for a lawyer.
