ADF sues NY governor

The suit was filed Tuesday in New York state court on behalf of lawmakers and taxpayers after the governor issued a directive ordering state agencies to recognize same-sex "marriages" from other jurisdictions.

The lawsuit claims that New York state's democratic socialist governor, David Paterson, has 'no authority' to redefine marriage.

David Paterson was the former Lt. Gov. of NY, but assumed the position of Governor after Eliot Spitzer resigned in disgrace from a prostitution scandal back in March of this year.
