‘We Are Deeply Troubled’: Stanford Admins Condemn Andrew Klavan YAF Lecture In Pathetic Letter

Those admins are Stanford’s Vice Provost for Student Affairs, and its Dean for Religious Life. Petulent children who call themselves students took their cue from these admins and attempted to barricade the auditorium doors with tables and trash cans in an effort to disrupt the event.

Why are Leftist institutions such cesspits of intolerance, repression, and hostility? And why am I forced to subsidize them with my tax dollars?

Andrew Klavan was invited to speak at Stanford last week by the Young America Foundation. His topic was 'America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and why that heritage is important today.'

From Spencer Brown at YAF: "Brubaker-Cole and Steinwert go on to allege that “Klavan distorts the tenets of the Muslim faith, equating Islam with violence and barbarism” before whining that they are “particularly dismayed that an event of this type is planned for the holy month of Ramadan."

No examples of 'distorts the tenets' were proferred by these admins to prove their point because none can be found.

For the uninitiated, Andrew Klavan is an evangelical Christian, conservative author, pundit, and playwrite. He wrote his autobiography entitled, 'The Great Good Thing; a Secular Jew Finds Faith in Christ.'  Klavan most recently wrote the screenplay for the movie 'Gosnell.' He is an invited speaker on campuses across the globe.

I've read his work and listened to his podcasts for many years. I find him to be knowledgable and kind, thoughtfully expounding on a wide variety of topics, in particular the Arts and Culture.

I've never heard him speak ill of Mulims or their faith. What these two misguided admins at a public university subsidized by our tax dollars did was attempt to smear a good man. I blame their irresponsible rhetoric for the vandalism and hostility perpetrated by the students. Because they're Hitler, or something. Isn't that how this game is played nowadays?

Brown notes that these two admins weren't done: "We are committed to free expression of diverse opinions,” the administrators write, but..."

But??

“...at the same time, as a campus we aim to model responsible use of free speech…just because speech is protected does not mean that it is ethical, moral, and/or responsible.”

That is, Stanford’s administrators would like you to self-censor in order to avoid sharing ideas they disfavor."
