A few Headlines

There are simply not enough hours in a day, and unfortunately, blogging suffers.

Kansas And Missouri Farmers Are Sticking With Trump Despite The Hard Times He's Caused Them
It's an NPR affiliate article, so that's why the weasel headline.
"Yet farmers, who broadly supported Trump in 2016, are sticking with him as the impeachment inquiry moves forward.

“You see everyone circling their wagons now, and the farm community is no different in that,” says John Herath, the news director at Farm Journal.

The farm magazine polls more than a thousand farmers monthly. Herath says Trump’s popularity slumped a bit in the summer, but he notes it bounced back to 76% favorable the week the U.S. House launched its impeachment inquiry."

Flooding and detours reduce number of users on Missouri's Katy Trail
"JEFFERSON CITY — The summer of 2019 was a washout along Missouri’s Katy Trail.

With long stretches of the popular pedestrian and biking trail underwater because of flooding along the Missouri River, attendance figures showed an overall 12.7% drop in attendance.

From January to August, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources counted 186,824 users, down from 214,243 for the same time a year before."
So, why does that matter? Tourism. The Katy Trail is the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (MKT or Katy). It's a 237 mile (386 km) long biking, walking, hiking trail stretching east & west across most of the state of Missouri. Over half the trail's length follows Lewis and Clark's path along the scenic Missouri River. That's the heart of Missouri wine country, and home to many quaint B&B's.
"In all, there are 26 trailhead stations along the trail, which had been a railroad line before it was abandoned due to repeated flooding.Workers continue to regrade the pathway, remove debris and patch holes.

“The trail is definitely not in perfect condition,” said Melanie Smith, Katy Trail coordinator. “We are making progress.”

58 indictments brought under St. Louis anti-crime effort
"In the project called the Safer Streets Initiative, Missouri Assistant Attorneys General are deputized as by the U.S. Attorney’s Office so that the prosecutors can take advantage of harsher federal sentencing guidelines.Tuesday, Missouri Attorney General Schmidt listed more than 100 charges made since late June:

“Fifty-nine criminal possession of firearms and ammunition, 30 drug trafficking or distribution-related charges, 12 possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking, four carjacking or carjacking resulting in death charges, four supervised release revocations, and three Hobbs Act robberies,” Schmidt listed at a press conference in St. Louis."
'Hobbs Act.' The golf-picture-gang,Biden, Biden, and Archer should be prosecuted under that law.

How the Hobbs Act Could Sink Joe Biden
It's a federal anti-extortion law -particularly aimed at corrupt public officials.
"Old Joe was put in charge of Ukraine foreign aid almost immediately after the Obama State Department putsch in February 2014.  All of Biden's meddling in Ukraine affairs by controlling the foreign aid to the Poroshenko regime are clearly "official acts."

Now, the Biden defenders will retort that Mr. Shokin was a crook and the Burisma case was not going forward anyway.  Put aside that this is highly disputed and is coming apart as more information comes to light.  Here's the problem for old Joe: it doesn't matter.

Biden needed only to take an action that involved Burisma and its owner, and intervening with Ukraine over Mr. Shokin is more than enough to meet the elements of the law.  Under the Hobbs Act, it doesn't matter if Mr. Shokin was actually getting anywhere or whether the ultimate disposition of Burisma would have been at all different.  The Hobbs Act was specifically written to punish elected officials who broadly trade on their offices, and boy, does it ever.  Rest assured that Mr. Barr and Mr. Durham understand this only too well."
Why is the Democrat Party such a cess pit of privilege, corruption, and cover-up?

Missouri students recognized for saving neighbor from man with axe
"Three Truman State University students in northern Missouri’s Kirkville have been honored for stopping a man who was beating a woman with an axe. During a ceremony this week in Jefferson City, the governor recognized Tyler Preston, Gabriel Gowen and Jordan Lambay for saving the victim’s life."
The woman, who had life-threatening injuries, survived the attack. Two of the students are serving overseas in the U.S. military. The third young man is an English major. Nice work!

U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler(R MO-4), U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt(R-MO) oppose White House decision to pull out of Syria
“Leaving the region will mean abandoning the Kurds who have been fiercely loyal allies as we’ve moved to eliminate ISIS and stabilize the region,” Hartzler said in a written statement.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been threatening to attack for months. Hartzler said she believes the decision to back out now will “create uncertainty for the region” and produce a “power vacuum.”
I'm dubious. There's something else going on in regards to the KUrds and regional alliances that is obscured.

Gun charges against St. Louis Democratic fundraiser dismissed on eve of trial, then refiled
"The veteran Democratic fundraiser was charged almost two years ago with firing shots at a man at the Amoco gas station on Skinker Boulevard and Highway 40 (Interstate 64), after calling the man the n-word and giving the clerk “an offensive hand gesture.” Lieberman had just bought cigarettes at the gas station. After Lieberman pulled his gun, the man retreated into the kiosk and heard multiple shots fired including two into the kiosk.

A short time later, at a Jack in the Box at 1242 Hampton Avenue, Lieberman shouted racial epithets at maintenance workers, charges said. He also fired a gun several times from a Mercedes sedan."
Why is the Democrat Party such a cess pit of violence and racism?

HUGE: Former Top Spy Admits Obama Ordered Investigation of Trump Campaign
James Clapper(D), Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in the Obama administrations, just threw his old boss under the bus.
"And while we’re at it, declassify as much as we possibly could to make it public, and that’s what we did. It’s kind of disconcerting now to be investigated for, you know having done our duty and done what we were told to do by the president."
A bombshell to signal the beginning of the end, as the walls close in. Right, CNN?

China Bans ‘South Park’ over Episode Calling Out Country’s Censorship
"Beijing has scrubbed every trace of Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s long-running animated comedy from its heavily regulated corner of the internet, after an episode entitled “Band in China” took Hollywood to task for its appeasement of communist censorship."
I don't watch 'southpark,' but I'm familiar with through all the intertube memes. My hat is off to the producers as they skewer all-comers, right, left, provincial, global, etc.

‘Oh s–t’: The moment FBI agents found Hillary Clinton emails on Anthony Weiner’s laptop
"Within hours of the Sept. 26, 2016, search warrant, FBI technicians noticed there were 340,000 emails on the laptop between Clinton and her top aide, Weiner’s wife Huma Abedin — many of them from domain addresses such as “hillaryclinton.com” and “state.gov.”

At an FBI briefing later that week, one participant said the revelation was like “dropping a bomb in the middle of the meeting.”
A shorter list would be 'What servers or hard drives DO NOT contain copies of Hillary's emails?'

White House Defies Impeachment Process in Letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi
“For the first time in our nation’s history, the House of Representatives is now purporting to proceed an impeachment inquiry against the president, without conducting a vote on the house floor,” a senior White House official said in a call with reporters after the letter was released."
That is the whole crux of this matter. Why? It's ostensibly a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The President is the the president of ALL the people. A select few representatives on powerful committees cannot usurp power, and shut out all the other people's representatives in that process. Trump is correct.
