The blog title is often acronymed as simply 'TOM.' The opening tagline up top warns you to hang on tight: "One should either write ruthlessly what one believes to be the truth, or else shut up." — Arthur Koestler
The 'other' is Robert Stacy McCain. His 'about' page states, "Robert Stacy McCain is a veteran journalist and conservative commentator who is also a public speaker, author and communications consultant. He is a frequent contributor to The American Spectator and is co-author (with Lynn Vincent) of Donkey Cons: Sex, Crime, and Corruption in the Democratic Party (2006, Nelson Current).
From 1997 to 2008, he was a writer and editor for The Washington Times. In March 2008, he launched his individual blog, The Other McCain. The original Blogspot site recorded more than 1 million total visits in its first year of full-time operation and eclipsed the 3-million visit mark in November 2009. He was joined by co-blogger Smitty in March 2009. On Jan. 1, 2010, the site debuted in a new WordPress format. In November 2010, the site reached the 5-million-visit milestone."
Amongst the terrific writing, which explores eclectic current events, are features such as THE FULL METAL JACKET REACH-AROUND AWARD "to honor those who link us in shameless obedience to Rule 2 of "How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog." IE: Reciprocal linkage is the essential lubricant that makes the blogosphere purr with contentment. And McCain, with mucho heavy lifting from co-blogger Smitty, is a very generous practitioner of this rule, and us backwater bloggers thank him.
