*April 29, 1992: Los Angeles riots
"Can we all get along?" - Rodney King
"Los Angeles Riots of 1992, major outbreak of violence, looting, and arson in Los Angeles that began on April 29, 1992, in response to the acquittal of four white Los Angeles policemen on all but one charge (which the jury was deadlocked) connected with the severe beating of an African American motorist in March 1991.
A videotape shot on March 3, 1991 showed an African American motorist (later identified as Rodney King) who had been pulled over for speeding after an eight-mile chase. When the arresting police officers’ initial efforts to bring a noncompliant King to the ground failed, they clubbed him with their batons dozens of times. The videotape, which was broadcast across the United States, prompted a huge outpouring of protests, often deadly and destructive.
As a result of several days of rioting in Los Angeles, more than 50 people were killed, more than 2,300 were injured, and thousands were arrested. About 1,100 buildings were damaged, and total property damage was about $1 billion, which made the riots one of the most-devastating civil disruptions in American history.
By May 4, L.A. Mayor Tom Bradley(D) - whose 20 years in office (1973-1993) marked the longest tenure by any mayor in the city's history - lifted the citywide curfew, and residents attempted to resume day-to-day activities with schools, businesses and rapid transit resuming operations. Federal troops stood down on May 9 and the National Guard soon followed, though some soldiers remained until the end of the month."
The misfeasance and ineptitude of Mayor Bradley - which failed to assuage or prevent deadly riots in his city - dogged his future, failed political endeavors, and was misunderstood by political consultants as 'The Bradley Effect.'"
LB1901 - I termed this death and mass destruction in L.A. as the first modern, media-driven racial insurgency. The deceptive, out-of-context video editing of King's beatdown by police was a malicious tactic adopted by racial / political grievance factions that is only made worse by today's vicious agenda driven smear merchants on social media.
It was the L.A./King riots which introduced me to local talk radio, and a now-deceased brilliant, critical thinker named Dave Dawson on 710 KCMO radio. I've been a fan of good talk radio, and now podcasts, ever since.

Three Hardest-Hit, Democrat-Run States Force Nursing Homes To Accept Recovering COVID Patients, Face Backlash
"As the New York Post reported Thursday, an executive at a New York nursing home in Queens that had been free of the virus says the facility first became aware of the state mandate when they received two discharged coronavirus-positive patients who were in need of care, and potentially still contagious. Along with the patients, the facility received five body bags. This deliberate targeting of the most vulnerable is textbook DEATH PANELS. Prove me wrong.
...“Within days, three of the bags were filled with the first of 30 residents who would die there after Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Health Department handed down its March 25 directive that bars nursing homes from refusing to admit ‘medically stable’ coronavirus patients,” the Post reported, citing the executive."
