“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God such men lived.” - Gen. George S. Patton

The impeachment trial of U.S. President Andrew Johnson ends with Johnson being found not guilty by one vote. The U.S. House of Representatives votes 11 articles of impeachment against  President Andrew Johnson, nine of which cite Johnson’s removal of Secretary of War  Edwin M. Stanton, a violation of the Tenure of Office Act. The House vote made  President Johnson the first president to be impeached in U.S. history.

The Tenure of Office Act (1867-1887) was a controversial federal law meant to  restrict the ability of the U.S. president to remove certain officials that  Congress had already approved. Bluntly, TOA was a bogus law designed to remove the  unpopular Johnson from office (sound familiar?). It was repealed by Congress in  1887 and declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 1926. Simply put, the  president has plenary power to fire whomever he wants from his administration. Congress has no say. The repeal of the Tenure of Office Act strengthened the power of the executive branch  of the U.S. government.

On February 24, Johnson was impeached, and on March 13 his impeachment trial began  in the Senate under the direction of U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase. The trial ended on May 26 with Johnson’s opponents narrowly failing to  achieve the two-thirds majority necessary to convict him.

On to today's news

The FBI documents that put Barack Obama in the ‘Obamagate’ narrative
"U.S. Attorney Jeff Jensen of Missouri (special prosecutor for DOJ), the FBI  inspection division, three Senate committees and House Republicans are all  investigating the handling of Flynn's case and whether any crimes were committed or  political influence exerted.

The investigators are trying to determine whether Obama’s well-known disdain for  Flynn, a career military intelligence officer, influenced the decision by the FBI  leadership to reject its own agent’s recommendation to shut down a probe of Flynn  in January 2017 and instead pursue an interview where agents might catch him in a  lie."
Still and again: no excitement without indictments.

'Diversify' is the watchword for investment portfolios. Diversity is common sense  for supply chains as well. And Leftists should approve - seeing they're all about  diversity n such. Any one seen Hunter Biden lately?
