CALLOUS, adj. Gifted with great fortitude to bear the evils afflicting another. -  The Devil's Dictionary

*May 29, 1954
First of the annual Bilderberg conferences was held in the Hotel de Bilderberg,  Oosterbeek, Netherlands. This year's meeting will take place in Sierra City, CA.,  unless cancelled due to Wuhan Corona Virus concerns.

The annual Bilderberg Meeting has been a forum for informal discussions about major  issues between Europe and North America. Every year, approx. 130 political leaders  and experts from industry, finance, labour, academia and the media are invited to  take part. The Meetings are held under the Chatham House Rule, which states that  participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor  the affiliation of the speaker(s) nor of any other participant may be revealed.

As a result of this secrecy, conspiracy theories abound. According to some, the  Bilderberg Group is the leadership committee for the Council on Foreign Relations  (CFR), IMF, World Bank, Trilateral Commission, EU, and powerful central bankers  from the Federal Reserve, the ECB’s Jean-Claude Trichet, Bank of England’s Mervyn  King, and ex-nazi, billionaire globalist, George Soros. The Broad Street Beacon  quotes Bilderberg expert Skyy Wolford, "Whatever its early mission, the Bilderberg  Group is now a shadow world government threatening to take away our right to direct  our destinies by creating a disturbing reality very much harming the public’s  welfare. In short, Bilderbergers want to supplant individual nation-state  sovereignty with an all-powerful global government, corporate-controlled, and  check-mated by militarized enforcement.”

Maybe. Maybe not. I'm more of an Occam's Razor guy than a conspiracy theorist, but  there sure is a lot of smoke in those words for there not to be any fire.

On to today's razors

What I Remember About 2020
"The masses don’t like being scolded by an unpleasant woman. But someone further up  the food chain never seems to get the message. I guess they’re not getting feedback  from the outcome because they’re not paying attention to the outcome. They’re  process people. I don’t know who they are…would love to find out…but they keep  offering up these scolding fusspots for us to accept, we don’t take delivery, and  then they do it again. They’re about to do it yet again when there are zip, zero,  nada, nil, null, none indicators whatsoever that this is what anybody wants.

Six months into 2020, we’ve been awash in Karens. No one is in the mood for this.  This is bad medicine for a campaign that’s fallen ill and is very far away from  being on any kind of mend. It’s going to be a bloodbath."
Metaphorically speaking, of course.

We are waiting for Fort Sumter.
"[NB: Written in 2006] The originating premise of this novel did not come from me.  Donald Mustard and his partners in Chair Enterainment had the idea for an  entertainment franchise called Empire about a near-future American civil war. When  I joined the project to create a work of fiction based on that premise, my first  order of business was to come up with a plausible way that such an event might come  about."
It was, sadly enough, all too easy.

“I’m very flattered by the many invitations to speak at various virtual graduations  this year, and very sorry to say I’m unable to accommodate everyone. I did however,  want to say something generally to all those men and women graduating from a trade  school, and, to those high school graduates, about to enter one. If you know  someone in either category, (and even if you don’t) I’d be grateful if you’d share  this.” — Mike Rowe

Still no COVID-19 cases in Barton County, (MO) two tests pending
• 191,894 Missourians tested
• 12,673 lab confirmed cases (Total since 3/7/20)
• 648 hospitalizations related to COVID-19
• 707 deaths attributed to COVID-19

• 6,169,270 Missouri's total population

707 divided by 6,169,270 = 0.00011 or one/ten one thousandths of a percent.  Statistically ZERO.

Missouri Gov. Parson extends Phase One of state's reopening through June 15
Wrong, governor. The curve has bent. We the People are DONE with any lockdown rules or regs.

How did Fauci know Trump would face a “surprise infectious disease outbreak”?

A top Australian vaccine researcher calls COVID 19 virus almost perfectly adapted  for humans - and Fauci is neck deep in the Wuhan lab.

47 U.S.C. § 230 and the Publisher/Distributor/Platform Distinction
"I'm still doing some research related to President Trump's "Preventing Online  Censorship" draft Executive Order, and hope to post more about this today. But for  now, I wanted to post some background I put together earlier about 47 U.S.C. § 230  (enacted 1996), the statute that is so important to the order; I hope people find  this helpful.

Section 230 makes Internet platforms and other Internet speakers immune from  liability for material that's posted by others Congress enacted 47 U.S.C. § 230  (with some exceptions)."
It's a nice primer from 'often Libertarian' Attorney Eugene Volokh for the current  twitter 'fact check' malice directed at Conservative tweeters, in general, and  Trump tweets, in particular. Achtung: deep lawyer-eze ahead, but it reads like BIG TECH lobbyists wrote the 1996 communications act - not Congress.

Sorry you’re sick. But virus the money
"A recent decision out of SDNY rejects defendants’ claim that “inability” to pay on  a consent judgment “due to” financial difficulties arising from COVID-19 translates  to the defense of legal “impossibility”"
Translation: The law is an @ss.
