Morning Coffee - #Resist!

"If you watch a game, it's fun. If you play it, it's recreation. If you work at it,  it's golf." - Bob Hope

**May 17, 1769

George Washington launches a legislative salvo at Great Britain’s fiscal and  judicial attempts to maintain its control over the American colonies. With his  sights set on protesting the British policy of “taxation without representation,”  Washington brought a package of non-importation resolutions before the Virginia  House of Burgesses. The resolutions, drafted by George Mason largely in response to  England’s passage of the Townshend Acts of 1767, decried Parliament’s plan to send  colonial political protestors to England for trial.

In the years after the Townshend Acts, the British responded to their rebellious,  often violent, colonial subjects with more draconian actions, including the  military occupation of Boston, beginning on October 2, 1768, and Virginia’s royal  governor disbanding the dissenting House of Burgesses legislators in 1769. These  steps failed to frighten New Englanders into silence, but it did succeeded in  rallying Southerners to the New England cause. By impugning colonial courts and  curtailing colonial rights, this British action backfired: it created an American  identity where before there had been none.

USAF Captain Walter W. Irwin piloted the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter to set a world  speed record for an airplane by flying 1404.19 mph over a 15 mile course. The  aircraft was the first ever to hold both the world speed record and the world  altitude record at the same time (91,243 feet on May 7, 1958 - pilot USAF Major  Howard C. Johnson).

Known by a variety of nick-names, including “Missile with a man in it,” “Lawn  Dart,” “Flying Coffin,” “Widow maker,” and “Zipper,” the airplane was plagued with  safety and operational issues - particularly, poor stall reactions and 'T-tail  flutter,' resulting in a high crash rate.

The F-104 became the basis of the U-2 spy plane, and was adapted for use by NASA as  an ultra-high altitude (120,000 feet) astronaut training plane. Jackie Cochran  became the first woman pilot to fly at Mach 2 in an F-104, and a civilian owned F- 104 holds the world low altitude speed record.

On to today's resistance

TARGETED: EXCLUSIVE: The Treasury Department Spied on Flynn, Manafort, and the  Trump Family, Says Whistleblower.
"The other names include: Members of Congress, the most senior staffers on the 2016  Trump campaign and members of Trump’s family, she said."
I'm old enough to remember when Leftists demanded we believe all whistleblowers.

Democratic clerk charged with altering nearly 200 midterm elections ballots
"Sherikia Hawkins was arraigned Monday in Southfield, Michigan, on six counts  related to the 2018 election including forging public documents and misconduct in  office and was released on $15,000 bond, according to National Review Online.

“The alleged misconduct was discovered after the Oakland County Clerk’s Office  noticed that 193 voter files had been changed to reflect that the voters failed to  include a valid signature or return date, when all of the implicated voters had in  fact included both items. The county clerk’s office later discovered the original  voter files in the trash at the election-division office,” National Review wrote."
THIS is why Democrats demand nationwide mail-in voting: opportunity.

I’m old enough to remember what Obama said about mail-in voting…
Yes, but that was just another cudgel of his faux moderate bullsh!t.

Tables turned on Mueller prosecutors: Ten actions ripe for scrutiny
"Recent revelations from the Flynn case fit an emerging, more general pattern of questionable prosecutorial tactics."
No excitement without indictments.

A Time to Hate - It’s not too late.
"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice, and moderation in the pursuit of  justice is no virtue. There is a time to hate.

I have come deeply to hate. I hate that Donald Trump never was given a chance to be  president of the United States for even one day’s honeymoon. I hate that, long  before he won the presidency — fair and square — corrupt crooks and criminals in  the United States Department of Justice, its Federal Bureau of Investigation, were  actively plotting to take him down. I hate that there are so few outlets in the  media that give voice to condemn the criminality and corruption that broke every  accepted societal norm by which we play the game. I hate that Obama was in on it,  yet continues to pontificate on what is just and on what threatens freedom.

I hate that they all keep getting away with it. Every single one of them gets away  with it. There is absolutely no price to be paid on the left for perjury, for  conspiracy to overturn a legitimate election, for treason."
Reasonable, IMHO. I've always found the mantra of 'don't be a h8ter' to be childish  and shallow; Some things should be hated, or at least, condemned.

Genesee County sheriff: 'Don't expect us' to write tickets enforcing (Gov)  Whitmer's order
"Swanson spoke with Detroit radio personality Charlie LeDuff on "No BS News Hour"  on Friday about the statewide stay-home order. When LeDuff asked Swanson if he  would enforce the orders, Swanson said the sheriff's job is to enforce the laws  "with discretion."

"We have not raided a business, we have not shut a business down," Swanson said.  "We are not pulling people over, we are not writing tickets, and don't expect us to  do it."

LeDuff raised the issue in regard to Karl Manke, the Owosso barber who defied the  orders and opened his barber shop before the Michigan Department of Licensing and  Regulatory Affairs suspended his barbers license."
Several other Michigan sheriffs announced they will not enforce the orders,  including Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy.

Atwater, CA declares itself "sanctuary city" from lockdown, allows businesses to  open
"As a result of the resolution, businesses and houses of worship will be allowed to  open and operate free from interference from local authorities."
If it's good enough for illegal aliens, 'sanctuary' is good enough for citizens.  Agree, Gov. Newsom? I knew you would.

Federal judge blocks NC governor's ban on indoor church services
"The order came days after two Baptist churches, a pastor, and a Christian revival  group filed a lawsuit seeking to immediately block enforcement of the governor's  order as it affects religious services. Judge Dever agreed with the plaintiffs that  the restrictions violate their rights to worship freely and that the order treated  churches differently than retailers and other secular establishments."
That latter part is almost as if a feature, not a bug. Oh, and lamp posts are still for fascists.

Oregon salon owner fined $14K for reopening shop against lockdown order; vows to  stay open
Oregon's Democrat governor is a fascist. And have I mentioned that lamp posts are for fascists?

Lawsuits Pile Up for Dem Govs Over Shutdown Orders
"More than a dozen states have seen lawsuits brought against them for shutdowns,  including Wisconsin's Supreme Court rejecting Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' statewide  shelter-in-place order at the behest of the state's Republican-held legislature.

The only two Republicans facing lawsuits, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and Ohio Gov.  Mike DeWine are both critics of President Donald Trump and have ended orders that  would render lawsuits against them moot, according to the report."
#Recall!

Gallup: Trump Approval Rating Higher Than Obama And Bush
"At this point in Trump’s presidency, his approval ratings top four of the last six  presidents, including Barack Obama and George W. Bush at this time in their first  terms. The fact that Trump is facing a constant barrage of criticism due to the  COVID-19 outbreak shows a remarkable resilience in his numbers."
I've heard that Trump can grab women by the OHMY, then shoot someone on 5th Ave, and  people would still vote for him.

Trump calls into charity golf tournament
"“We want to get it back to where it was. We want big, big stadiums loaded with people,” (Trump) said. “We want to get sports back. We miss sports. We need sports in terms of the psyche, the psyche of our country.”

The TaylorMade Driving Relief is being played at Seminole Golf Club in Florida to raise money for COVID-19 relief. There are no crowds, no caddies and a limited TV crew, all following social distancing guidelines."
We all can't hide under Karen's bed forever.

Romney is a political stain. Utah needs to recall this clown.

Speaking of Utah: Good Guys 6, Bad Guys 0
"I won’t count the 7th bad guy… 6 arrested in fatal home invasion robbery in Utah."
God bless the 2nd Amendment.

The Real Differences Between Men and Women
"Murray’s objective is to present evidence from psychology, neurology, and genetics  about human variability and its biological basis. In Part I, he addresses sex and  gender differences. While there are undoubtedly important cultural influences on  defining and enforcing gender roles, there are also inherent biological differences  between males and females, which influence significant outcomes. Murray provides  generalizations that sum up the evidence in a clear and defensible fashion:  “Proposition #1: Sex differences in personality are consistent worldwide and tend  to widen in more gender-egalitarian cultures.”"
Same as it ever was: Men are from Mars; Women from Venus. Viva la difference!
