Is the Government Stockpiling Ammo to Thwart Gun Owners?

'Homeland Security has more or less laughed off 'found it so inherently unbelievable that those statements would be made it was hard to ascribe credibility to them.'

Uh, huh. But that's not a 'no.'

The ammo in question is .40 caliber and 9mm hollow point bullets - which are prohibited under the Geneva Convention. The Department of Homeland Security seeks to purchase 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition over the next few years.

IBD did the math (via Jazz Shaw at Hotair):

'Chaffetz noted that the department currently has more than 260 million rounds in stock. He said the department bought more than 103 million rounds in 2012 and used 116 million that same year among roughly 70,000 agents.

Comparing that with the small-arms purchases by the U.S. Army, he said the DHS is churning through between 1,300 and 1,600 rounds per officer per year, while the Army goes through roughly 350 per officer.'

Homeland security claims all that ammo is needed  'for training.' Yet, the question remains unasked and unanswered: Training for what??

'In a July 2, 2008 speech in Colorado Springs, candidate Obama said: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

The government that would limit law-abiding citizens to some seven bullets to defend their families and their homes still has some explaining to do.'

But when it comes to other groups and other motives for the same kind of terrorism -- we lose our moral focus. Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and Kathy Boudin have become honored members of the faculties at leading universities. Ayers is even the friend of the president of the United States. Regarding his own record of setting bombs that kill and dismember innocent people, Ayers told The New York Times on the ironic date of Sept. 11, 2001 that "I feel we didn't do enough ... (there's) a certain eloquence to bombs, a poetry and a pattern from a safe distance." So says a retired "distinguished professor" at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Today, American liberals are obsessed not with terrorism but with the color and ethnicity of terrorists. They can readily enough attribute violent tendencies to groups they dislike -- the tea party, for example, which hasn't committed so much as a littering offense. But when it comes to Islamic terrorism, their voices falter...'

An excellent read that highlights exactly what our counter-terrorism measures should focus upon - the ideology motivating certain people who commit heinous acts of terror, and not simply the tactic itself.

USDA Advertises Food Stamps in Mexico - to Illegal Aliens

'A USDA Spanish language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy, according to Judicial Watch, reads that if potentially ineligible immigrants want to obtain benefits for their children they “need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”

The Daily Caller has reported extensively about the USDA/Mexico partnership that seeks to promote taxpayer-funded nutrition assistance among eligible Mexican Americans, Mexican nationals and migrant communities in America.'

It all probably comes with a Spanish language U.S. voter registration form, too.

That dead officer's name is Sean Collier.

Meanwhile: FBI hunting 12-strong terrorist “sleeper cell” linked to brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Boston Bomb Suspect Dzhokhar Awake, Responding via Writing

From USA Today:

"Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, is awake in a Boston hospital and responding in writing to questions, a law enforcement official said Sunday.

Investigators who have been waiting to interrogate Tsarnaev are looking into the possibility that his neck wound was self inflicted, a federal law enforcement official said."

Three people were killed and more than 170 were injured when two bombs exploded April 15 near the Boston Marathon finish line.

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis believes that Dzhokhar and his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 (now dead), "were going to attack other individuals."

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is under heavy guard, and in serious condition at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A commenter notes that 'Beth Israel' means 'House of Israel.'

Missouri Revenue Director Resigns Amid CCW Controversy

"JEFFERSON CITY — Brian Long resigned Monday as director of the state Department of Revenue after four months on the job and as legislative inquiries into the release of concealed gun data and a new driver licensing system have the department facing tough questions." 

 That CCW data was released to the Feds via the Mo. State Highway Patrol.

"Lawmakers have reacted strongly to the release of the confidential information. They are also concerned about whether the new licensing requirements are part of an effort to implement the 2005 federal Real ID Act.

Concealed weapons permits are confidential. A state law passed in 2009 bars Missouri from taking steps to implement Real ID because of concerns about the amount of data that would be collected on individuals." 

 And therein lies the controversy.

Apparently, privacy is only a concern to govt. when your underage daughter wants to kill her unborn child without her parent's knowledge.

From 2005 until his appointment as revenue director in December, Mr. Long Long was chairman of the Council on Public Higher Education, the association of the state's public universities - which may help explain his anti-liberty, nanny-state tendencies. Deputy Director John Mollenkamp will serve as acting revenue director until a new permanent director is appointed.

Ozark Missouri School Employees Now Carry Weapons

And the parents approve.

"The school board, which includes a former county sheriff, worked out the details of liability coverage with Fairview’s insurance provider. Then, at an open meeting in late February, it authorized some of the school employees to undergo a training program that would certify them to carry guns on campus.

Those employees took a 40-hour course during spring break last month through a company called Shield Solutions, whose instructors included local SWAT team members. The training, which was paid for by the school, included firearms and situational drills. The employees, who have furnished their own guns, each also had to pass a background check, a drug test and a mental evaluation — all of which must be repeated annually, as well as additional firearms training and re-certification. 

“It’s not a ‘Well, here’s your gun; carry it,’ ” said Vic Williams, the Fairview superintendent. “It’s very closely monitored. It’s not a Clint Eastwood-type deal.”

Children are precious and priceless. We are required, by law, to entrust them to public educators 7 hrs / day, 240 days / yr., and pay for the privilege with tax dollars. It's only reasonable to do our best to protect them, and firearms in properly trained hands are a good solution. Govt. officials are protected by armed guards; entertainers are protected by armed guards; sports stars are protected by armed guards; our money is protected by armed guards. Our children are more valuable than all put together.

BRAVO to this district for making the right decision.

Why Are the Feds Trying to Identify All Gun Owners in Missouri?

Actually, it's all concealed carry weapon (CCW) permit holders in Missouri - not all gun owners - since CCW is the only registration of gun owners kept on file by the states.

But why do the Feds need with this info? Or, more specifically, what does the Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General need with this info?? And why did the Missouri State Highway Patrol - which is directly answerable to Gov. Jay Nixon (a democrat) - supply that info to the Feds??


BTW: Anyone attempting to purchase a firearm via a federal firearms license (FFL) dealer is ran through the FBI NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System), but those records are destroyed soon after the check is complete.
