Frog Season in Missouri Kicks off at Sunset.

From MissouriNet:

"Water Patrol spokesman Lieutenent Jerry Callahan says froggers are going to be around and on the water after dark, looking for their game. And he says while smaller ponds, lakes, rivers and streams are unaffected by flooding, larger rivers and bodies of water can be dangerous.

Frog season runs tonight through October 31st. Authorities say shooting bullfrogs and green frogs is legal, but that bullets can recochet off the water. They say gigging and grabbing are the safest and most preferred methods."

Amazon dot Com Terminates Deal with 25,000 Calif. Affiliates

Why? Because California wants to tax those internet sales. And Amazon doesn't want to absorb the onerous regulatory costs of collecting taxes for California.

Alternative headline: Greedy Liberal Fascists Accelerate California's Rapid Downward Spiral into a Third World Toilet.

Or reason number 248 Kalifornia needs to slide off into the Pacific.

From the OC Register:
"Gov. Jerry Brown has signed into law California’s tax on Internet sales through affiliate advertising which will immediately cut small-business website revenue 20% to 30%, experts say.

The bill, AB 28X, takes effect immediately. The state Board of Equalization says the tax will raise $200 million a year, but critics claim it will raise nothing because online retailers will end their affiliate programs rather than collect the tax."
Once again, the super colossal cognitive dissonance of Liberalism demonstrates its total ignorance of human nature. Plus, there are Constitutional prohibitions against states taxing interstate commerce - which is Federal jurisdiction; like immigration enforcement.

(I'm sure our incompetent, finger wagging AG Eric Holder will jump right on California's flagrant intrusion into Federal business.)

The article continues:
"Almost all the California Amazon affiliates have fewer than 75 employees and a large percentage have no employees, according to Rebecca Madigan executive director of the Performance Marketing Association, a Camarillo-based nationwide trade association.

“This law won’t impact Amazon that much but it is a crisis for website owners who make revenue by placing ads on their websites for thousands of online retailers,” Madigan said. “Most of them don’t have a physical presence in California.”
Liberalism truly is a mental disease.

A Fourth of July Article

by David Barton; An excerpt:
"John Adams believed that the Fourth of July should become a religious holiday – a day when we remembered God's hand in deliverance and a day of religious activities when we committed ourselves to Him in “solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.” Such was the spirit of the American Revolution as seen through the eyes of those who led it, evidenced even further in the words of John Quincy Adams, one who was deeply involved in the activities of the Revolution.

(Upon his return to France, in 1783, the young Adams served as an additional secretary to the U.S. commissioners in the negotiation of the Treaty of Paris that concluded the American Revolutionary War. - Ed. note)

In 1837, when he was 69 years old, he delivered a Fourth of July speech at Newburyport, Massachusetts. He began that address with a question: “Why is it, friends and fellow citizens, that you are here assembled? Why is it that entering on the 62nd year of our national existence you have honored [me] with an invitation to address you. . . ?”

The answer was easy: they had asked him to address them because he was old enough to remember what went on; they wanted an eye-witness to tell them of it! He next asked them: “Why is it that, next to the birthday of the Savior of the world, your most joyous and most venerated festival returns on this day [the Fourth of July]?”

An interesting question: why is it that in America the Fourth of July and Christmas were our two top holidays? Note his answer: “Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer's mission upon earth? That it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity?”
Sadly, far too many victims who sleep through gub'mint schools will never learn these truths.

Is it any wonder we have generations of intellectually bankrupt and morally degenerate citizens demanding their class warfare demi-gods in gub'mint use the police power of the state to confiscate wealth for their own perverse demands? And then howl with vociferous indignation - resorting even to violence in the streets - if others dare to question how that fits under the egalitarian principles embodied in our Constitution?

At least those victims who slept through gub'mint schools got a pass/fail grade in self-esteem and how to properly worship at the alter of Gaia.

God save the Republic.

Double Standard of "Comical Proportions"

(this is a re-post from April 2010)

Police departments across the country have deemed TEA party gatherings peaceful and quiet, while the Leftists are frequently violent. Still, most of our indolent MSM ignore the facts and play to the narrative, all to the detriment of their ratings.

So, since FOX news appears to be the only one doing compare and contrast, all to the benefit of their ratings, here's a comparison with the resultant contrast.

Note Mr. Levine's moral equivalency argument between angry words vs. assaulting police officers.

Oh. And while we're doing comparisons, how about a look into Mexico's "police state" as it applies to their immigration policy.

Kabuki Abomination Obamanation

2012 Troop Pullback Worries Military Experts:
"Mr. O’Hanlon and General Barno said it was hard to fathom the military logic of setting a withdrawal deadline for the surge right in the middle of the fighting season. “This is a rushed ending to what has been a fairly effective surge,” Mr. O’Hanlon said.

Even after the withdrawal of the surge forces — an initial 30,000 plus 3,000 other support troops — the American presence in Afghanistan will be a considerable force of 68,000. But there will be less opportunity for carrying out the full counterinsurgency campaign planned by commanders. Afghanistan’s own security forces will number 300,000 by the end of the year, although questions about their professional ability remain.

Administration and Pentagon officials said Gen. David H. Petraeus, the commander in Afghanistan, had pressed for a less rapid withdrawal. Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, who visited Afghanistan in recent weeks, also had warned against risking the success of the surge with a speedy withdrawal. But the president’s new order was preferable to even more accelerated proposals to withdraw all of the surge forces by early next summer."
Early next summer? That's square in the middle of presidential campaign season. What a coincidence.

And, yet, that bastion of foreign policy wisdom, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Looney.), on Thursday knocked the Obama administration’s strategy for an Afghanistan withdrawal, but also suggested Congress could take steps to bring more troops home much sooner.

Other democrats parroted their legislative (minority) leader stating, "The whole premise of this war is wrong.”

Why Does NPR Hate Black People?

(This is a re-post from Oct. 2010, with update)

Updated update: NPR's CEO Vivian Schiller resigned in March of this year after the insulting 'Williams' episode (detailed below) proved her to be a hyper-partisan bigot heading up an ostensibly 'unbiased' news network partially subsidized by tax payer dollars.

That kerfuffle was quickly followed by the release of an under cover video in which NPR's (now former) top fundraising executive, Ron Schiller (no relation to the CEO), proved himself to be a hyper-partisan religious bigot soliciting funds for an ostensibly 'unbiased' news network partially subsidized by tax payer dollars.

On June 2nd of this year, it was announced that Vivian Schiller was hired as NBC News' Chief Digital Officer.

Obviously, to enhance the 'unbiased' reputation of that network - and remind them that the Pledge of Allegiance includes the words "under God."

*original post *

Let's play a little game.

Do you recognize this woman?

 Probably not.

She is Vivian Schiller, President and CEO of NPR.

Do you recognize this man?

Doubtful.

He is Antoine W. van Agtmael, Chairman of  the NPR Foundation. He's also a big wig in the World Bank.

What about all these folks?

That's the entire Board of Directors at NPR.

And a lot of white faces. Oh, sure. There's some Hispanic surnames in there, but Hispanics come from Europe, and Europeans are, you know, bad.

Mr. Lyle Logan is the only black man on the entire NPR board of Directors. Go ahead. Try and spot him.

Earlier this week, in a predictable move, uber-liberal, mega-rich white doood, George Soros, donated 1.8 million dollars through his uber-liberal Open Society Foundations to NPR for the express purpose of hiring 100 new journalists.

Now comes word that one of America's leading Black journalists, Juan Williams, and  NPR's only on-air television personality, has been fired by NPR.

This blogger questions the timing.

Firing Williams was a hasty decision that NPR now admits was poorly handled. To add insult to injury, NPR's CEO, Vivian Schiller, insinuated that Mr. Williams was in need of psychiatric care. Or something.

It would appear that NPR - like their fellow liberal travelers on the information highway (CNN, MSNBC, etc) - talk a good game about diversity, yet when it comes to the upper echelons of their organizations, whether in front of the camera or behind the scenes, it looks like white bread and mayonnaise is the main course.

This blogger wants to know, "Why does NPR hate black people?" It's the only explanation. It's a conclusion in search of a report issued by the NAACP. The evidence is overwhelming.  The NAACP must seek justice and right this wrong against a clean and articulate black man!

Or not.

I guess the NAACP is busy elsewhere with a broad brush and a big bucket of demagoguery.

Obligatory disclaimer to the obtuse or humorless: All of the above is satire. I do not believe for a Massachusetts' minute that the fine folk who sit on NPR's board of Directors are a bunch of  racialists who hate black people. I'll leave that sort of juvenile race-baiting slander to other cretins.

NPR is a government subsidized, non-profit entity with rules and regs, like most other organizations. It can hire and fire whomever it likes (no, it's not like the Helen Thomas incident). NPR states that it terminated the contract of longtime news analyst Juan Williams after remarks he made on the Fox News Channel about Muslims.
"When I get on a plane," Williams told Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, "I've got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.
"Williams claims, "I was fired for telling the truth."

Sorry, Juan. I disagree. I think NPR merely used that as a pretext. The real problem was you being too cozy with the evil FOX News. From 2008:
"NPR has asked Fox News not to identify its news analyst, Juan Williams, with NPR branding when he appears on Fox News because of outrage among its largely liberal listener-base. And Fox News has happily agreed to do so.

NPR Ombudsman Alicia Shepard wrote Wednesday that in 2008 she received 378 "complaints and frustrations about things Williams said on Fox," including claims that Williams "dishonors NPR" and is an "embarrassment to NPR" and that "NPR should severe [sic] their relationship with him."
Obviously, 378 open minded, progressive, all things considered complaints.

NPR substantiated the point in its public memo about firing Juan Williams:
"Williams' presence on the largely conservative and often contentious prime-time talk shows of Fox News has long been a sore point with NPR News executives."
My guess is  NPR's uber-liberal, mega-rich white doood benefactor, George Soros, doesn't care much for the evil FOX News, either.

Meanwhile, Fox News just signed Juan Williams to a new three-year contract worth $2 million, and Mr. Williams wasted no time in airing his opinions about his former employer:  Political correctness, character assassination, and intolerance at National Public Radio.

All things considered, I'd say Juan Williams is the big winner in this kerfuffle.

12 Deceptive Comic Book Ads

Years ago, when there were afternoon movie matinees, only three 'alphabet' networks, and AM radio was king, comic books were tailor made for a kid's imagination - and a parent's disdain.

(An industrious parent's hope was their child's pursuits would lean more towards Beethoven, Carver, Emerson, Einstein, Salk, or von Braun.)

Nowadays, hollyweird mints millionaires out of the comic book genre. How's that for a cultural barometer?

And usually in the back of that plepeian pulp from yesteryear were those wildly ridiculous ads enticing every kid to pester his parents for a dollar or two or ten, and a stamp.

From Oobjet dot com:
"Comic book ads are the nadir of capitalism, where the ability to blatantly deceive through advertising is exacerbated by the fact the audience is young children. Here are some classics."
Obviously, the guys at Oobject dot com take themselves wa-ay too seriously, but manage to post a pretty good potpourri of Americana, anyways.

Of course, in the new nanny state millennium, Eric Holder would deem parents too inadequate to monitor such stupidity, and have his boot on the neck of the suits at DC or Marvel for such childish enticements.

Although, Mr. Holder will vigorously defend your child's 'right' to access pr0n at the public library.

Yet another depressing cultural barometer...

Imperious Obamanation

Lawmakers mock Obama claim on Libya hostilities.

From a perplexed AP:
"In an escalating constitutional fight, House Speaker John Boehner threatened to withhold money for the mission, pitting a Congress eager to exercise its power of the purse against a dug-in White House. The Ohio Republican signaled that the House could take action as early as next week.

"The accumulated consequence of all this delay, confusion and obfuscation has been a wholesale revolt in Congress against the administration's policy," said Sen. John McCain, the top Republican on the Armed Services Committee who has backed Obama's actions against Libya.

The administration, in a report it reluctantly gave to Congress on Wednesday, said that because the United States is in a supporting role in the NATO-led mission, American forces are not facing the hostilities that would require the president to seek such congressional consent under the War Powers Resolution.

The 1973 law prohibits the military from being involved in actions for more than 60 days without congressional authorization, plus a 30-day extension. The 60-day deadline passed last month with the White House saying it is in compliance with the law. The 90-day mark is Sunday.

In the meantime, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi has maintained his grip on power, and the White House says if the mission continues until September, it will cost $1.1 billion.

Instead of calming lawmakers, the White House report and its claims about no hostilities further inflamed the fierce balance-of-power fight."

Our Moral Dilemma

The erudite and always entertaining Walter E. Williams is at the podium.

Give an ear, citizens, and be enlightened.
"Aside from the moral question is the economic efficiency question. If the user of something isn't paying, it's a good chance that he'll overuse and waste it. Our country's problem is that too many Americans want to benefit from things for which they expect other Americans to be taxed.

A related moral question is: Does one American have a moral right to live at the expense of another American? To be more explicit, should Congress, through its taxing authority, give the Bank of America, Citibank, Archer Daniels Midland, farmers, dairymen, college students and poor people the right to live off of the earnings of another American? I'm guessing that only a few Americans would agree with my answer: No one should be forcibly used to serve the purposes of another American.

You might say, "Williams, if Congress makes it a law, then you should submit to being used to serve the purposes of others."

Such a vision introduces the next moral question, namely under what conditions is it moral to initiate force and threats of force against a person who himself has not initiated force or threats against another? Before that question can be answered, you might ask for a bit more specificity that has an important bearing on the answer, namely are we talking about a free or a non-free society?"
 Read it all.

Women are Born to be Moody

Alternative headline: Men and women are different. Viva La Difference!

From the Daily Mail:
"Other research backs up this idea that women make less serotonin than men. Scientists at the University of Montreal found that men’s brains, on average, make 52 per cent more than women. The reason may be tied to differences in male and female sex hormones.

While the findings about women producing less serotonin are controversial, ‘oestrogen and testosterone, the main sex steroid hormones, have long been known to affect behaviour’, according  to the British Society for Neuroendocrinology.

However, oestrogen can have a bigger effect on women due to their ever-fluctuating hormone levels, says Dr Andrei Novac, clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine."

Top 200 Obama donors get cushy government jobs, perks

Ladies & gentlemen, the President of the United States

“It’s Time Washington Acted as Responsibly as Our Families Do:”

"Families across this country understand what it takes to manage a  budget.  They understand what it takes to make ends meet without  forgoing important investments like education.  Well, it’s time  Washington acted as responsibly as our families do.  And on Monday, I’m  proposing a new budget that will help us live within our means while  investing in our future. Ten Congressmen Sue Pres. Obama Over Libya Mission, War Powers Act

From ABC News’ John R. Parkinson @Political Punch:
"The lawsuit challenges what the lawmakers see as “the executive branch’s circumvention of Congress and its use of international organizations such as the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to authorize the use of military force abroad, in violation of the Constitution.”

“With regard to the war in Libya, we believe that the law was violated. We have asked the courts to move to protect the American people from the results of these illegal policies,” Kucinich said in a statement announcing the suit.

A copy of the complaint is linked here.

The lawsuit is signed by a bipartisan group of members of the House, including Kucinich (D-Ohio), Jones (R-North Carolina), Howard Coble (R-North Carolina), John Duncan (R-Tennessee), Roscoe Bartlett (R-Maryland), John Conyers (D-Michigan) Ron Paul (R-Texas), Michael Capuano (D-Massachusetts), Tim Johnson (R-Illinois) and Dan Burton (R-Indiana)."
Doug Mataconis @ OTB notes this was tried in 1999 with Campbell v. Clinton  - and failed.
"In some sense the court in Campbell is right, if Congress believes the President has acted unconstitutionally, they have the power to cut off funding for the Libyan action, or even to impeach the President, if they have sufficient votes to support that action. If they don’t, I’m not at all certain that getting judges involved in this particular policy area makes any sense at all."
I think all this misses the point. No congress critter is so stupid as to cut off funding in the midst of a kinetic military action, and none have the stones to initiate impeachment. The bigger issue is the frustration on both sides of the aisle with the increasingly imperious executive actions of this president to accomplish his unilateral objectives with thinly veiled contempt for two-thirds of this government.

As the economy suffocates, the tax revenues shrink and the military fatigues, tempers will flare and words continue to grow hot on the Hill.

2012 is shaping up to be a very ugly year for 'Hope n Change.'

Wealthy Americans Permanently Leaving the US of A in Record Numbers

"According to the latest Internal Revenue Service report, the number of Americans renouncing their U.S. citizenship (or terminating their long-term permanent residency) has increased nearly ninefold since 2008."
Robert Frank @ the Wealth Report asks "Are Taxes Causing the Rich to Renounce Their Citizenship?"
“There is growing concern, particularly among the wealthy, about the future financial direction of the country,” said Paul L. Caron, Charles Hartsock Professor of Law at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. “This President constantly demonizes the wealthy, who undoubtedly are concerned about the tax policy that would emerge in 2012 if a re-elected Barack Obama, unconstrained by re-election concerns, finally confronts the budgetary train wreck that he has done so much to exacerbate.”
While some use wealth envy and class warfare as political weapon, I see this as a disturbing trend. I don't know about you, but I've never been employed by a poor person. This type of exodus leaves a debilitating vacuum in its wake. It's akin to a nation's 'brain drain,' in which those who envision game change ideas or create new technology migrate to more inviting pastures, enriching their new host with their life's work.

More "Conservative Texas is Booming VS Liberal California is Floundering"

 From Jay Ambrose @ RCP:
"Businesses love all that, varied researchers tell us. A number point out that, in 2008, Texas accounted for fully 70 percent of all new jobs created in America, and if you think that's great, which it is, don't suppose this was a one-shot deal. Businesses are reported to rate Texas the single best state in which to operate. Give them a chance and many will pull up stakes from yonder plunder-and-abuse venue and follow the Lone Star to high profits, sharing prosperity and opportunity as they resettle.

Meanwhile, what glitters is definitely not the Golden State. California is faced with a $26 billion deficit, cripples businesses with unconscionable taxes and rules, has dreamt up environmental objectives that in effect are combat tactics against the common good and is faced with a cost of living that is only part of the reason why citizens are deserting the place like the hordes that once upon a time rushed to enjoy its splendor."

Texas Claims 37% of All U.S. Jobs Created Since June, 2009

From the WSJ:
"Using Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data, Dallas Fed economists looked at state-by-state employment changes since June 2009, when the recession ended. Texas added 265,300 net jobs, out of the 722,200 nationwide, and by far outpaced every other state. New York was second with 98,200, Pennsylvania added 93,000, and it falls off from there. Nine states created fewer than 10,000 jobs, while Maine, Hawaii, Delaware and Wyoming created fewer than 1,000. Eighteen states have lost jobs since the recovery began.

The data are even more notable because they're calculated on a "sum of states" basis, which the BLS does not use because they can have sampling errors. Using straight nonfarm payroll employment, Texas accounts for 45% of net U.S. job creation. Modesty is not typically considered a Texas virtue, but the results speak for themselves.

Texas is also among the few states that are home to more jobs than when the recession began in December 2007. The others are North Dakota, Alaska and the District of Columbia. If that last one sounds like an outlier at first, remember the government boom of the Obama era, which has helped loft D.C. payrolls 18,000 jobs above the pre-crisis status quo. Even so, Texas is up 30,800."
This excellent article goes on to explain the Lone Star State's success is due to no state income tax; a business-friendly climate; right-to-work laws; and Texas has a small govt. with a balanced budget...

Everything the deep blue Obamanation is not.

Remember this Index of Personal and Economic Freedom inter-active map? Texas ranked 14 out of 50 states.

NY Man Claims Mannequin is His Wife

From the Watertown Daily Times:
"A man who goes by the name of Ned Nefer, 38, is traveling from Syracuse to Watertown by foot. He is pushing Teagan, a 6-foot mannequin that Mr. Nefer claims is his wife.

Mr. Nefer said he was born in Syracuse and in the 1980s spent some time at the Children's Home of Jefferson County in Watertown, where he said he met Teagan when she was just a head. He said he built a body for the mannequin and the two were "married" Oct. 31, 1986, in California."
No word yet if he's related to Anthony Weiner (D-NY).

New Study Ranks Missouri Fifth Out of 50 States in Personal Freedom

Kansas ranked 17.

Thankfully, the study didn't score Obama's 57 states.

From the KC Metro News Monitor:

"The Mercatus Center at George Mason University measured freedom using an individual-rights framework, ranking New Hampshire number one.

Rounding out the top five, South Dakota placed second, followed by Indiana, Idaho and Missouri.

Government spending is relatively low in Missouri, the study finds, noting nonfuel, nonseverance taxes are 8.8 percent of personal income. However, marijuana sentencing is “extremely harsh,” the authors write."
Like that's problem?

This interactive map shows the obvious: the bluest of deep blue states rank the least free.

As a result, denizens of those states are exiting en masse to states with fewer regulations, less taxes and more jobs.

Where is the Green Jobs Explosion?

From EM @ HA:
"When Barack Obama spoke of “necessarily bankrupting” coal-fueled electricity producers, he claimed that the explosion in “green jobs” would replace the workers dislocated by penalizing fossil fuels. So far, though, there is little evidence of any explosion in green jobs, or even significant job creation at all."

BM @ Q&A phrases it slightly different: "In the midst of terrible economic times, let’s raise energy prices dramatically and lay people off..."

Of course, there is the expected dissent from uber-liberal DNC @sshat Debbie Schultz, spewing her usual party line agitprop.

But, wait. There's more !

WJDND - What Jesus Did Not Do

Gary DeMar, over at AmericanVision.org, has a post entitled "Why liberals (sometimes) love the Bible."

I think the post should be called "Why liberals take Biblical texts out of context to make a pretext to further their nanny state imposed socialist bvllsh1t", but it's a bit of a tongue twister. DeMar makes some good points, none the less.

I'll simply add my own repost of  What Jesus Did Not Do:

Jesus did not say, "The poor in our society can be middle class with more gub'mint funding."

Jesus did not approach the Sanhedrin to demand a tithe on Temple goers to clothe the naked & feed the hungry.

Jesus did not petition the Senate in Rome to levy a tax on all subjects in order to do medical research and heal the sick.

Jesus did not end the parable of The Good Samaritan with a guilt trip to goad the townspeople to pay for the expenses of others with confiscated wealth.

Jesus did not promise an earthly utopia through political solutions or judicial fiat.

All the miracles that Jesus performed were designed to point to His divine nature and the truth of His Word of Heavenly salvation - not to solve the earthly dilemmas of sickness, hunger & poverty.

In short, these incendiary, health-care reform ideologues pontificating about WWJD seem to be outright ignorant of Biblical knowledge and down right bereft of wisdom in their h3ll bent rush for power.

Actor Martin Sheen Reveals Wife was Conceived in Rape,

and talks about his ‘strong’ anti-abortion views.

From the Metro Voice:
"In the interview he also discusses his Catholic faith, which he says includes praying the Rosary, belief in trans-substantiation, and the communion of saints.

Sheen, a complex character whose Catholic devotional life and pro-life views have not stopped him from backing the presidency of Barack Obama, was interviewed by Gay Byrne; the interview was released on Irish broadcaster RTE’s website April 3."
For the life of me, I cannot fathom how anyone can claim to be a faithful Christian who prays, yet supports political candidates who condone and facilitate killing unborn babies.

I just can't. It smacks of neurosis or hypocrisy or both, IMHO.

Obama Proclaims June as Sexual Perversion & Gender Confusion Month

AKA: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.

But what about "Polygamist Pride Month?" Or "Onanist Pride Month?" Why does President Obama hate polygamists and onanists??

From Mark Alexander @ the Patriot Post:
"In the last month, Obama's presidential proclamations included Military Spouse Appreciation Day (502 words), National Day of Prayer (546 words) and Memorial Day (620 words and 18 holes).

However, Obama's Proclamation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month was 826 words, not to mention all of his other comments and the launching of the new White House website, "Winning the Future for LGBT Americans," ad nauseam.

Despite all the rhetoric, here are the quick and accurate facts about homosexuals and their behavior. There is no "gay gene," no innate trait or brain distinction between heterosexuals and homosexuals. Homosexuality is not a "civil right" as identified anywhere in our Constitution or its amendments. Homosexuals experience substantially higher instances of mental illness. Homosexuals are, in fact, implicated far more often, per-capita, than heterosexuals in cases of child sexual abuse. The number of "hate crimes" directed at individuals because of homosexual proclivity is minuscule, totaling 267 among 860,853 aggravated assaults in the FBI's most recent year of record. Homosexual orientation can change, and efforts to correct homosexual pathology are not "harmful" to the individual.

In regard to the homosexual agenda, its objectives must be understood and its actions aggressively halted."
Mr. Alexander concludes by stating that Pres. Obama has never made any proclamation heralding heterosexuals - who happen to be the vast majority of tax paying citizens and workers.

You Shall Know a Tree by Its Fruit

Luke 6:43-45

No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers.

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

"Jesus says you are like a tree, and your words, actions, and decisions are the fruit that you produce. If your fruit is bad, it indicates a problem that needs to be addressed with the whole tree. You can't just fix the fruit. If there are bad apples on a tree, you can't correct the problem with paint or tape. You can't just water the apples. You need to check the roots, and check the tree for signs of disease.

Maybe part of your bad fruit is dishonesty. You cannot correct that by trying harder not to lie. That doesn't get to the heart of the problem, which is the heart. Your fruit will only change when you allow God to change your heart."

2011 is Third Straight Year for TRILLION Dollar Federal Deficit

Hope! Change!

From EM @ HA:

"Taking the average of eight months and extrapolating it out to the end of the fiscal year, we will run a deficit of $1,391,100,000,000 by September 30th. That will be the third straight year of trillion-dollar deficits under Barack Obama and Democratic budgets."
EM goes on to explain that the Democrats believe it's because of a lack of tax revenue and propose to jump start the stalled economy. How? Another stimulus.

The definition of insanity is...

Obama’s Road to Nowhere

This is Main Street, Obamaville: All bumps, no road.

From the inimitable Mark Steyn:

"So what kind of jobs were those 54,000? Economics professorships at the University of Berkeley? Non-executive directorships at Goldman Sachs? That sort of thing? No, according to an analysis by Morgan Stanley, half the new jobs created were at McDonald’s.

That’s amazing. Not the Mickey D supersized hiring spree, but the fact that there’s fellows at Morgan Stanley making a bazillion dollars a year analyzing fluctuations in minimal-skill fast-food service-job hiring trends. What a great country! For as long as it lasts. Which is probably until some new regulatory agency starts enforcing Michelle Obama’s dietary admonitions.

Until then, relax. That bump in the road is just a quarter-pounder with cheese that fell off the counter on the drive-thru lane to recovery. Like every other blessing, we owe the Big MacConomy to the wisdom of Good King Barack. “This plant indirectly supports hundreds of other jobs right here in Toledo,” Obama told the workers at Chrysler. “After all, without you, who’d eat at Chet’s or Inky’s or Rudy’s? . . . Manufacturers from Michigan to Massachusetts are looking for new engineers to build advanced batteries for American-made electric cars. And obviously, Chet’s and Inky’s and Zinger’s, they’ll all have your business for some time to come.”

A couple of days later, Chet’s announced it was closing after nine decades. “It was the economy and the smoking ban that hurt us more than anything,” said the owner. But maybe he can retrain and re-open it as a community-organizer grantwriting-application center. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the median period of unemployment is now nine months — the longest it’s been since they’ve been tracking the numbers. Long-term unemployment is worse than in the Depression. Life goes slowly waiting for a fast-food job to open up.

This is Main Street, Obamaville: All bumps, no road. But shimmering on the distant horizon, beyond the shuttered diner and the foreclosed homes, is a state-of-the-art electric car, the new Fiat Mirage, that should be wheeling into town in a half-decade or so provided it can find somewhere to charge.

“We will be able to look back and tell our children,” declared King Barack the Modest of his own candidacy in 2008, “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow.” Great news for the oceans!

Meanwhile, back on dry land, a quarter of American mortgages are “underwater” — that’s to say, the home “owners” owe more than the joint is worth. In Harry Reid’s Nevada, it’s 63 percent. Perhaps Obama’s Aquatic Bodies Water-Level Regulatory Authority, no doubt headed by Jamie Gorelick or Franklin Raines or some other Democrat worthy, could have its jurisdiction extended to the Nevada desert.

“Hope”? “Change”? These are the good times. What “change” are you “hoping” for in Obama’s second term? The loss of America’s triple-A credit-rating? The end of the dollar as global currency? Or just a slight upward tick in the same-old-same-old multi-trillion dollar binge-spending?

On what?"

Hollywood ‘Comedian’ Calls for Assassination of Sarah Palin

Yes, I know. This story is already growing cold. But why are Leftists so hateful and violent?

How a Teachers’ Rally Made Me Anti-Education

That's the title of Zombie's latest blog post:
"I write this essay with a heavy heart. I’ve always considered myself an ardent advocate for education. But a recent rally staged by teachers and students in favor of school funding forced me to reluctantly acknowledge an awful truth: We have to destroy education in order to save it.

Let me explain how I came to this miserable conclusion..."
It's a thoughtful and worth while read, although I'm pretty sure he's referring to public school education and not the more effective and cost efficient choices of private education.

These are just a small sample of disturbing pictures captured at simultaneous rallies across California last month of the gub'mint school neo-bolsheviks and their demands for money, along with threats against the taxpayers and politicians if they don't get it.

Obama to Create White House Rural Council

Big gub'mint getting bigger.

From an 'unexpectedly' surprised Associated Press:

"The panel will be responsible for providing recommendations to the president on investment in rural areas, as well as coordinating with a variety of rural interests, including agricultural groups, small businesses, and state, local and tribal governments.

It will focus on 10 areas that affect nearly one-fifth of the U.S. population of 308 million. But the panel's initial focus will be on job creation and economic development.

Rural residents are eager for better educational opportunities, transportation alternatives, better access to health care and reliable access to the Internet, among other issues.

The remaining subject areas will be: agriculture, access to credit, innovation, health care, education, Internet access, infrastructure, conservation and developing regional economies."
I guess Pres. Obama never heard about the United States Dept. of Agriculture, or it's plethora of sub-divisions including, but not limited to, the USDA's own 115 billion dollar Rural Development agency, or the USDA's Farm Service Agency, which already have legions of bureaucrats on the ground addressing all the president's concerns.

Some Democrats are all Excited about Finally Producing a Budget

From Boortz:

"It’s been 770 days since the Senate Democrats have produced a budget. That’s over two years since we’ve seen anything from the Senate .. and yes, I blame this on the Democrats because they have held control of the Senate since 2007. While Harry Reid recently said it would be “foolish” for Democrats to propose their own federal budget for 2012, some of his Democrat colleagues are thinking twice."
Great thinking there, Harry. Because funding and managing a multi-trillion dollar organization which holds sway over world economies and armies should always be done by throwing darts blindfolded.

Guy Benson at Town Hall says "Don't do it for me; do it for the cowboy poets."

Of course, back in 2006, Hapless Harry was singing a different tune:
“This Republican Congress has failed the American people by putting its campaign needs ahead of America’s needs,” said Reid. “It has protected the president by rubberstamping his incompetence in Iraq, Iran and North Korea, it has wasted months pursuing a political agenda with issues like marriage and flag burning, and it has ignored what’s happening to middle-class families—like skyrocketing gas prices, skyrocketing college tuition and our skyrocketing national debt. We need a new direction, and we need it now.”
Not that Hapless Harry is a rabid, hyper-partisan hypocrite, or anything...

Obama's 'Phony' Accounting on the Auto Industry Bailout

Uh oh.

If Obama has lost the stenographers at the Washington Post...

"We take no view on whether the administration’s efforts on behalf of the automobile industry were a good or bad thing; that’s a matter for the editorial pages and eventually the historians. But we are interested in the facts the president cited to make his case.

What we found is one of the most misleading collections of assertions we have seen in a short presidential speech. Virtually every claim by the president regarding the auto industry needs an asterisk, just like the fine print in that too-good-to-be-true car loan."
Here's brief round-up:
*"Chrysler has repaid every dime..." (wrong. and the bailout enable Obama's UAW cronies to acquire a much bigger piece of Chrysler)
*"All three American automakers are now adding shifts and creating jobs..." (fudge. this is a shrinking industry hemorrhaging full time jobs, simply calling back the recently laid off)
*"GM plans to hire back all of the (laid-off) workers..." (maybe. but this is a shrinking company which has eliminated 68,000 jobs.)
*(With auto companies near collapse), "a lot of folks in Washington thought we should do — nothing." (a flat out lie and quite a straw man)

Top White House economist Goolsbee to Resign

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Top White House economist Austan Goolsbee said on Monday he was stepping down, marking the exit of one of President Barack Obama’s top aides at a time when new signs of weakness have emerged in the economy.

Less than a year after he was named chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, Goolsbee plans to return to his teaching job at the University of Chicago, the Obama administration said in a statement. He will be back in Chicago in time for the start of the next school year.
Dilbert.com
Those that can't, teach?

Mr. Goolsbee is the fifth in a long, ignoble line of 'smartest guys in the room' to abandon Obama's floundering ship of state. SG at SL comments on this heart-broken lament from Reuters.

Over here, the lovely and talented Michele Malkin has some deft insight to Obama's Egghead Economic Saboteurs:
"When Goolsbee joined Team Obama, the unemployment rate was at around 6 percent. When he announced his resignation on Monday, the jobless rate stood at 9.1 percent. Romer and Jared Bernstein (former chief economist to Vice President Joe Biden) had predicted unemployment would drop every single month after August 2009 due to the Obama stimulus. Bernstein bailed on the administration in April 2011 for the sanctuary of a liberal think-tank. He'll also now ply his failed wares as a financial pundit.

These hapless command-and-control ideologues were preceded by Peter Orszag, who hung his "Mission Accomplished" banner over the White House budget office in June 2010 after fewer than two years on the job, and by former National Economic Council head and hedge fund manager Larry Summers, who was caught sleeping on the job -- literally -- more than once during his brief tenure. Summers packed his bags in September. He was followed by Princeton economics professor and former top Obama Treasury Department official Alan Krueger in October 2010..."
Which all ledes to the theory that just won't go away, Government-Assisted Economic Suicide by Monty Pelerin:
"According to Tenebrarum, no amount of additional stimulus can remedy this problem. It really doesn’t matter, because point 3b, has also been reached — we are out of resources. The Federal Reserve has more than tripled its balance sheet in the last three years. Additionally, the Federal Government has created about $5 Trillion in new debt to fund Keynesian stimuli.

There is nothing to show for squandering all these resources other than an increasingly insolvent government, an increasingly impoverished population and a woefully imbalanced economy. It is time to face up to the fact that eight decades of Keynesian politics has hollowed out the economy, leaving us with massive distortions, imbalances and unserviceable debt. More of the same medicine will only make each of these conditions worse.

The economic adjustments required now rival those of The Great Depression. They cannot be avoided by anything the government can do. Government can only make matters more intractable."
As I alluded earlier, some say this by design. Why? Because a crisis - even one orchestrated - should never go to waste. Hey, if a little trillion dollar command & control worked to balloon an already gargantuan gub'mint after the 2008 melt down, why not a whole lot after a truly catastrophic, systemic failure?

In the central planning, nanny state philosophy, only more big gub'mint control, spending and consolidation could rescue the nation in such turmoil, which would, by default, result in greater power for the gub'mint.

And that, of course, is a central planning, nanny state bureaucrat's wet dream.

DNC Chair claims GOP Wants a "Literal" Return to Repugnant Jim Crow Laws

The DNC's chair is some @ss hat named Debbie Schultz, and I guess she never got that 'new civility' memo.

From Ben Smith at Politico:

Roland Martin asked Wasserman Schutlz about the laws in an interview on the African-American network TV One's "Washington Watch" program, according to a transcript from the network:
"...now you have the Republicans, who want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws and literally - and very transparently - block access to the polls to voters who are more likely to vote Democratic candidates than Republican candidates. And it's nothing short of that blatant."
"Bring back Jim Crow?" Would that be for all 57 states, Mrs. Schultz?

And these hate mongering, intolerant Liberal nutjobs think Sarah Palin is a dipstick.

But I shouldn't be too hard on Mrs. Schultz (or is that Weiner's territory?). She's simply parroting the usual race pimp, democrat lackey party screed that Republicans hate old people, minorities and dogs, and that such voter photo ID requirements will disenfranchise their illegal voting blocs. `Natch.

States which either have voter photo ID or are strengthening existing ID laws are North Carolina, Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio, Georgia, Indiana.

Supreme Allied Commander, Gen. Eisenhower's D-Day Speech
"Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessings of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking."

Transcript:

Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force! You are about to embark upon a great crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers in arms on other fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened, he will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man to man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our home fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!

Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessings of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

-- Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower

Time Won't Let Me - The Outsiders

Suicide For Thee, But Not For Me

Assisted suicide advocate Kevorkian dies at age 83.

A sorrowful AP devotes 1,455 words in 45 paragraphs to "Dr. Death's" natural life & death.
"Kevorkian, who said he helped some 130 people end their lives from 1990 to 1999, died about 2:30 a.m. at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, close friend and prominent attorney Mayer Morganroth said. He had been hospitalized since last month with pneumonia and kidney problems.

An official cause of death had not been determined, but Morganroth said it likely will be pulmonary thrombosis. "I had seen him earlier and he was conscious," said Morganroth, who added that the two spoke about Kevorkian's pending release from the hospital and planned start of rehabilitation. "Then I left and he took a turn for the worst and I went back."

Nurses at the hospital played recordings of classical music by composer Johann Sebastian Bach for Kevorkian before he died, Morganroth said.

Kevorkian was freed in June 2007 after serving eight years of a 10- to 25-year sentence for second-degree murder. His lawyers had said he suffered from hepatitis C, diabetes and other problems, and he had promised in affidavits that he would not assist in a suicide if he was released."
May the Lord have mercy on his miserable soul.
