MyBook? FaceSpace? Wait... Facebook. I tried. I really did. Honest. But it sucks. Major suckage. Insidious. Like a swarm of bugs. Yet many places I traveled through the inter-tubes required a Facebook account - in order to comment on a blog. Supwitdat?? So signed up. Branch out, I said. Try new things. Call me pragmatic. But for months, there it sat. My Facebook page, yet it was my log-in key to troll, er... illuminate other blog worlds with my erudite ruminations. Then I decides to post stuff on my Facebook page. No, I don't have some weepy Sally Fields "you really like me" fetish. And I don't care to be your tangentially obscure inter-tube 'friend', either. I simply tried to blog on Facebook. Big mistake, like trying to shoot pool with a rope: you can't edit posts; resize images; embed video; free form html of any sort; etc.

In short, Facebook sucks. Give me a backwater blog with wide margins and too many tools I don't know how to use, any day! - LB1901

Update: I'll attempt to transmigrate some of my erudite Facebook ruminations over here shortly. And for the dedicated reader of this blog (thanx, Mom!), I'll attempt to start blogging again. Stay tuned, citizens. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

Father Polanski Would Go to Jail

And the hollyweird hypocrites would be leading the chorus.

Thomas J. Reese, S.J. asks, "Is there a double standard here? You bet."

Hey. Did you know Polanski raped that lil girl in Jack (castro is genius) Nicholson's jacuzzi?

For some 'throw up a little in your mouth' reading, here is a transcript (part 1, part 2) of the victim's court testimony.

And, just wondering; what kind of a mother would let her 13 y.o. daughter go alone to a grown man's house to be 'photographed?'

Related: some things hollweird won't forgive.

You Lie!

Rep. Alan Grayson(D) states on the House floor that Republicans want sick Americans to die quickly.

I think a shout out of "You lie!" would have been an appropriate response to Rep. Grayson’s demagoguery.

It would have only cost a cheap apology.

You Lie!

Yes, Virginia, even the NY Times reports that the public health care option would obliquely fund abortion on demand.

Can we just tell the nanny state gub'mint to eff off now? Let's just shut the whole thing down. Send all the congress critters home for the year, and leave the American people the. h3ll. alone!!

Come back in Nov., 2010 and then we'll talk.

Why hasn't Charlie Rangel stepped down?

Step down? How about impeached!

"Unlike Jones, Rangel doesn't have a colorful past as a leftist and signer of a conspiracy statement suggesting that President Bush knew the planes were headed for the towers. And when it comes to causing a ruckus, The Times and Post are disadvantaged by their adherence to standards of decorum and fair play that Beck subverts for a living. But Rangel's transgressions appear so plentiful and severe that it's a wonder he still has a job let alone the chairmanship of the tax-writing committee that The Times calls "one of the most powerful bodies in American government."

Cockroaches, all.

More Gub'mint School Circus Maximus

Your tax dollars at work.

But it's not indoctrination.

TIME Magazine Tracks Iran's Slide into Chaos Ahead of Geneva Talks

"By ROBIN WRIGHT – Mon Sep 28, 1:00 pm ET

What a difference a few months can make.

In early June, Iran was at the apex of its power on the world stage. Aid to insurgents in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon had helped convert Tehran into a regional superpower rivaled only by Israel. At home, hard-liners led by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had consolidated control of parliament, the judiciary and the military and marginalized reform parties.

This week, however, Iran heads into talks in Geneva with the U.S. and five other world powers more vulnerable at home and abroad than at any time since the revolution's chaotic early days. Despite defiant talk and a weekend display of military force, the world's only theocracy begins its most important diplomatic engagement in three decades in real trouble."

Slide into chaos? The apex of its power??

I suggest that Obama's sycophant lap dogs at TIME look up "1983 Beirut barracks bombing & 1988 Iranian hostage crisis" for the beginning of Iran's long slide into the totalitarian toilet.

Or TIME could look up Iran aquiring nuclear fuel from Russia in 2006. Or cutting off criminal's hands & feet under sharia law. (Thank God they didn't water board anyone). Or Iran targeting Coalition forces in Iraq!

And let's not forget, those Iranian propagandists suck at photoshop.

But what's a few morally equivalent, propaganda memory holes matter when writing about a totalitarian, suicide bombing, terrorist weapons supplying, holocaust denying, Jew killing, proxy army, islamic jihad regime launching medium range missiles and seeking nuclear weapons??

TIME must fawn over Iran's former apex of POWER.

Krykee. What a bunch o' tools.

Long Ago, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away...

This may make mommydaddy happy to have a year round baby sitter at the gub'mint warehouse for children, but wait till they get the tax bill for the extra hours and days.

And, like most things our ubiquitous Dear Leader seeks to manipulate in our lives, his reasoning is based more on dubious narrative than actual fact.

NY Times Columnist William Safire Dies At 79

He was the only reason to ever actually pay money for a copy of the NY Times. Mr. Safire was also a prolific author who wrote novels and books on politics.

In 2008, Mr. Safire updated his witty analysis about the language of politics entitled "Safire's Political Dictionary." Originally published in 1968, this updated 2008 version of William Safire's Political Dictionary includes definitions of such words as 'Red/Blue State,' 'moonbat,' 'Rumsfeld's Rules,' 'Deadcat Bounce,' and the terms "Throwing someone under the bus" & "the soft bigotry of low expectations,"; etc.

On May 6th, 2008, Mr. Safire was interviewed by "The Book Guys." That interview can be found at the C-Span archives. It runs about one hour and is well worth the time.

I compiled this Fair Use Sample from that interview. It runs about 6 minutes.

Our prayers & well wishes go out to his family & friends.

Niqabs and Burqas - The Veiled Threat Continues

From Daniel Pipes:

"To remind, both garments are designed for the modesty of Muslim females; the niqab covers all but the eyes and the burqa covers the entire face. In "Ban the Burqa – and the Niqab Too," two years ago, I documented how these two items pose criminal and terrorist dangers.

Is that still the case?"

Abortion Addict Confesses 15 Procedures in 16 Years

Ahh. Look. She even wrote a book about her murderous perversion.

”No book like this has ever been written,” she told ABCNews.com. “I just imagine the ‘baby killer’ and I could be a poster child for that kind of fundamentalism. And there are my little kids in all of that.”

The self-loathing disfunction is passed to the next generation...

I hope, at least, this pitiful excuse for a womb informs her children who lived that condoms are cheaper than abortions.

Or does her violent socialist heritage presume that gub’mint will fund any choice??

Misremembering History

By Mark Tooley at the American Spectator:

"It's an article of faith for the secular and Religious Left that Western civilization is a pox upon the planet. According to this not-so-new mythology, the earth and its indigenous peoples were essentially good. But European civilization, corrupted by Christian Constaninianism, injected corruption, conquest and genocide into largely pristine cultures.

In 1990, the National Council of Churches infamously denounced the impending quincentennial of Christopher Columbus' "invasion" of America, which brought only "slavery, genocide, theft and exploitation." In earlier years, the church council, whose chief denominations had helped found the United States, had celebrated American democracy. But the NCC's ideologues, like most of the Religious Left, no longer heed Christianity's traditional understanding of humanity as fallen. In the preferred mythology, people are good but corrupted by "systems" primarily associated with capitalism, patriarchy, and the Church."

"Bite Me, Jew Boy!"??

"Apparently NBC “Dateline” producer Jane Stone or someone else who has access to her Blackberry has a problem with groups that oppose ACORN and with an ethnocultural minority."

Uh, I ferget - Is this the rainbows and moonbeam part, or the unicorns and butterfly part?

I'm so confused.

That's Gonna Leave a Mark

Congress slaps ACORN again.

"The House voted today to avert a possible government shutdown next week by temporarily extending the current federal budget. But Democrats inserted a provision saying that ACORN could not receive funding under the stopgap measure or any prior legislation.

To include language in legislation that targets a single organization is unconstitutional and wrong," ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis said in a statement. Congressman Nadler said it best: The punishment here did not follow some criminal or administrative process with basic due process protections. It flowed out of a Fox News network report, which led the call for a public lynching. There was no statement of charges and no reference to a judicial or administrative finding of wrongdoing by ACORN.'

Lewis added that ACORN is being singled out unfairly -- after a controversy started when employees it later fired appeared to advise conservative activists posing as a prostitute and her pimp on how to skirt the law -- when other groups and corporations are accused of doing much worse."

Much worse? Someone should inform Ms. Lewis that it doesn't get much worse than aiding traffic in child sex slaves. Which makes this all the more pathetic: Trying to justify blatant, wide spread, egregious behavior in a single organization by pointing to other bad, corporate behavior.

As for Lewis' shameless remonstration against 'the punishment', EM over at HA sums it up very nicely:
"This is nonsense, of course; Congress can choose to give cash to organizations, and can also choose not to give cash to organizations. There is no application of due process, because ACORN is not entitled to taxpayer funding."

A fact that is obviously lost on this perverse pack of parasites.

Amateur Finds Huge Anglo-Saxon Treasure Trove

(A map of Anglo-Saxon England. The find was made in what would then have been known as Mercia)

"LONDON — It's an unprecedented find that could revolutionize ideas about medieval England's Germanic rulers: An amateur treasure-hunter searching a farmer's field with a metal detector unearthed a huge collection of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver artifacts.

The discovery sent a thrill through Britain's archaeological community, which said Thursday that it offers new insight into the world of the Anglo-Saxons, who ruled England from the fifth century until the 1066 Norman invasion and whose cultural influence is still felt throughout the English-speaking world."

A list of the trove's highlights, along with many photos and a video can be found here.

Apparently, Only Gub'mint Can Provide Adequate Care

School Nurse Shortage Hampers Swine Flu Response

"Only 12 states, mostly in the Northeast, met the 1-to-750 ratio recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the association found.

In Michigan, severe financial problems prompted the Pontiac School District to lay off five of its six nurses, who played a key role in the district's response to swine flu last spring.

''If H1N1 is anything like the prediction, schools without school nurses will be missing their front line of defense,'' said Susan Zacharski, the district's only remaining nurse. She now works in a center for special needs students who are legally entitled to a nurse, but there are no nurses to serve the district's other 7,200 students.

With swine flu cases rising with the new school year, districts are depending on teachers, principals and secretaries with little medical training to identify, isolate and send home sick children, as well as monitor absences and illnesses for signs of a wider outbreak.

''We're asking so much more of untrained staff as far as providing medical management,'' said Nina Fekaris, a nurse in the Oregon's Beaverton School District who is responsible for four schools with 4,300 students. ''It's putting our kids at risk.''

Some teachers complain they haven't received guidance or training on how to deal with swine flu.

''We really don't know what symptoms to look for, how to caution our kids or how to protect ourselves,'' said Robert Ellis, a first grade teacher at Washington Elementary School in Richmond, Calif.
''I'm really concerned about it spreading in the classroom, how many kids will be impacted and the loss of educational time.''

Since it was first identified in April, the swine flu has infected more than 1 million Americans and killed nearly 600, the CDC estimates.

So far swine flu does not appear to be more dangerous than seasonal flu, which kills an estimated 36,000 Americans each year, but it appears to be more contagious and health officials are concerned that it could mutate and become deadlier.

Federal health officials are urging parents to have their kids vaccinated, but the H1N1 vaccine will not be ready until October.

In districts that have them, school nurses are developing plans to screen and quarantine sick students, teaching students proper classroom hygiene, urging parents to keep ill children at home, organizing vaccination campaigns and instructing teachers and school staff how to identify sick students."

Well, there you have it. A crisis du jour the AP seems all too willing not to let go to waste. Parents can't be counted upon as proper watchdogs and providers for their children's healthcare. Children's doctors and clinics aren't even alluded to in this story. Only the gub'mint school nurse can save the pandemic day.

H1N1 isn't any more dangerous than seasonal flu, but it appears to be more contagious, yet the concern is a college educated, classroom teacher cannot identify a child with flu like symptoms?

The top heavy, high dollar administrators probably wouldn't take a pay cut to retain some nurses.

Obviously, a new multi-billion dollar federal program must be implemented.

UN Delegates Storm Out Of Iranian President's Speech

Yup. What rational thinking person would want to sit through another vile, West-bashing, holocaust denying, Jew hating, totalitarian tirade from Iran's puppet-in-chief, Herr Ahmadinejad?

France led the walkout of a dozen delegations including Argentina, Australia, Britain, Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand and the United states. Canada soon followed. Israel boycotted altogether.

"Undeterred, Mr Ahmadinejad went on to accuse foreign troops of spreading "war, bloodshed, aggression, terror and intimidation" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He lashed out at capitalism, arguing it had reached the end of the road and would suffer the same fate as Marxism.

And he also used his speech to brush off accusations that his re-election in June was a fraud, describing the polling day as "glorious and fully democratic".

Notably absent from Mr Ahmadinejad's podium address was the subject of Tehran's stand-off with Western powers over its nuclear ambitions."

Meanwhile: Iranian-Americans Protest Ahmadinejad's Presidency.
"Thousands of Iranian-Americans gathered outside the United Nations on Wednesday to voice their opposition to the Iranian government, in the largest such protest here in 30 years."

On the other hand: Crowd at United Nations stage protests against Libya's Khadafy.
"A crowd of more than 200 included several relatives of the victims of the 1988 Lockerbie plane crash.

Libyan Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was convicted of carrying out the bombing - then freed on compassionate grounds by Scotland and given a hero's welcome home by Khadafy."

Update: Oh! Hold the phone. Khadafy has a rational thought! And I agree with him.

Anti-Capitalist Filmmaker Enjoys Vulgar Displays of Wealth

The appetizer at any liberal gathering is always hypocrisy.

Doubling Down on a Train Wreck

Democrats on path to repeat housing disaster, by Byron York.

"At the hearing, and in others across Capitol Hill, Democratic majorities are pressing hard to expand some of the very policies that led to the reckless home lending that in turn helped lead to the great financial meltdown. If Chairman Barney Frank and his fellow Democrats have their way, we'll do it all again -- and more.

At issue last week was H.R. 1479, the Community Reinvestment Modernization Act of 2009, sponsored by Democratic Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson. It would expand and strengthen the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act, which required banks to make loans in low-income areas that many lenders had traditionally shunned."

In short, for the first CRA trainwreck, Congress, via HUD & Fannie Mae, demanded banks make high risk loans (or face the regulators wrath) to people who couldn't afford those loans - all in the name of 'fairness'. $787,000,000,000.00 worth of fairness.

Hey, Congress. I gots your fairness, right here!

York rightly points out that CRA was not entirely to blame, but the philosophy behind CRA did eventually build an over heated financial house of debt which collapsed under its own morally hazardous weight.

Here's a good, step-by-step layman's guide to how that happened.

And now those mental midgets in Congress want to double down on this deja vu, all over again.

Worst Foreign Policy Ever

Obama is tripping all over the world stage.

"Then there is the catalogue of Mr. Obama's embarrassing moments on the world stage, a list which includes: giving England's Queen Elizabeth II an iPod with his speeches on it; giving British Prime Minister Gordon Brown a collection of DVDs that were not formatted to the European standard (by contrast, Mr. Brown gave Mr. Obama an ornamental desk-pen holder made from the oak timbers of Victorian anti-slaver HMS Gannet, among other historically significant gifts); calling "Austrian" a language; bowing to the Saudi king; releasing a photo of a conference call with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which the president was showing the soles of his shoes to the camera (an Arab insult); saying "let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel's"; saying the United States was "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world"; suggesting Arabic translators be shifted from Iraq to Afghanistan where Arabic is not a native language; sending a letter to French President Jacques Chirac when Nicolas Sarkozy was the president of France; holding a town-hall meeting in France and not calling on a single French citizen; and referring to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when he meant Cinco de Mayo. Also of note was Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton giving Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a "reset" button with the Russian word for "overcharge."

Har, har, har. GW is debonair by comparison, but it's Obama's strategic impotence that's truly frightening...

The UN loves Barack Obama Because He is Weak

From an insightful Telegraph UK:

"It is not hard to see why a standing ovation awaits the president at Turtle Bay. Obama’s popularity at the UN boils down essentially to his willingness to downplay American global power. He is the first American president who has made an art form out of apologizing for the United States, which he has done on numerous occasions on foreign soil, from Strasbourg to Cairo. The Obama mantra appears to be – ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do to atone for your country. This is a message that goes down very well in a world that is still seething with anti-Americanism.

It is natural that much of the UN will embrace an American president who declines to offer strong American leadership. A president who engages dictators like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez will naturally gain respect from the leaders of the more than 100 members of the United Nations who are currently designated as “partly free” or “not free” by respected watchdog Freedom House.

The UN is not a club of democracies - who still remain a minority within its membership – it is a vast melting pot of free societies, socialist regimes and outright tyrannies. Obama’s clear lack of interest in human rights issues is a big seller at the UN, where at least half its members have poor human rights records."

Cali. Luxury Hybrid Car Maker Receives $528,000,000 Loan from FEDS

Al Gore is a venture capitalist partner in the company.

"Fisker, launched in 2007, is expected to release its first vehicle, the Karma, in the summer of 2010. The $87,900 plug-in luxury sports sedan, which has solar panels on the roof and allows motorists to drive gas-free for 50 miles, will be built in Finland by Valmet Automotive."

Because $90,000 per copy hybrid cars built in Finland are a sure return on investment during a global recession.

Fisker's direct competitor, Tesla Motors, which makes a $109,000 per copy roadster, received $465,000,000 loan from the FEDS back in June.

Volkswagon, anyone?

ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis Has Barack Obama on Speed Dial

Ok. That's not really true, but:

"The web of connections from Ms. Lewis’s contacts list goes straight into the White House and out the other door into the Departments of Labor and Housing and Urban Development, circling back to ACORN’s lobbying operation."

On Sunday, Pres. Obama told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, “Frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely. I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.”

Ok. That's not really true.

Blog Wars Are Boring

I briefly flirted with a LGF news reader in the lower right corner of this blog for a few weeks (yawn), and I think I've linked to three LGF posts in three blog years (it's a link wh0re thang), but since I live in a cave, I don't know Charles Johnson from Howard Johnson.

Some people do, and now have major issues with the man. Apparently, Charles was some sort of sooper dooper, prima donna blog-father, back when the intertoobs was simply the www, and blogging was 'cutting edge'.

Glory days; They will pass you by,,,

Now this Johnson guy hosts race pimp parties, votes a straight democrat ticket and wears a burka. Or something. Don't know. Don't care.

Stephen A. Smith Talks Common Sense

Probably while bitterly clinging to his Bible & guns.

"Smith: ...but I certainly didn't expect us to own 80% of AIG; I didn't expect us to own a part of the automobile industry.

It's one thing to put forth a $787 billion stimulus package, but to drop on top of that a $410 billion omnibus package, $3.6 TRILLION budget, a Cap & Trade bill, and then to come with universal health care that ultimately lends towards a govt. take over of the heathcare system - um, these - I did not have to listen to Mark Levin, or Sean Hannity, or Rush Limbaugh, uh, to recognize that this is something that should make all of us extremely uncomfortable - because, as a young black man growing up in the streets of NYC, no matter what you say about so many of the critics perceived as leaders within the community, people may have advocated, Mark, government intervention in terms of supervising things to make sure we all are operating under a fair & equitable system, but I don't recall anybody - and I do mean anybody - that has ever walked in the Black community and advocated a government take over of anything.

It's about handling your own business; grabbing yourself by your own boot straps, and lifting yourself up. We may all need assistance, but a take over is an entirely different situation, all together, and I'm extremely uncomfortable with it. And I'm even more uncomfortable with the fact that race has become a part of the discussion. We all know that racism exists to some degree, but to act as if it is as prevelent as it was years and decades ago, is completely untrue, and it serves to divide this nation, which I think is a catastrophic thing.

Levin: Are you running for president? 'Cause I'll vote for you!"

Mark Levin is obviously a racist.

From those benevolent bureaucrats in Britain. Ain't central planning grand?

ObamaCare Would 'Save Many Lives'

"So Why Fuss Over Illegal Aliens?"

That's the pronouncement from senior news analyst Daniel Schorr at gub'mint subsidized NPR.

Mr. Schorr needs to pull his head up from Obama's lap, long enough to take a look around at the dozens of socialized medicine 'waiting to die' horror stories coming from England & Canada.

The problem with liberals on this issue is the same problem with liberals on every issue: they feel gub'mint is the central planning panacea for everything - despite decades of evidence to the contrary.

Instead of reasonable & controlled tweaks to the existing system - eliminate state barriers to insurance choice (pro-choice. right, libs??), eliminate pre-existing condition restrictions, allow tax exempt medical savings plans, allow individual tax deductions for health insurance premiums (just like big business) - the libs get their nappies all soiled and ready to spend TRILLIONS over the next decade because 10% of the people don't have insurance.

And, as for that 'deficit neutral' & eliminating "hundreds of billions of dollars in waste and fraud" from Medicare crap?

Charles Krauthammer wants to know Does He Lie?

"Moreover, if half a trillion is waiting to be squeezed painlessly out of Medicare, why wait for health care reform? If, as Obama repeatedly insists, Medicare overspending is breaking the budget, why hasn't he gotten started on the painless billions in "waste and fraud" savings?

Obama doesn't lie. He merely elides, gliding from one dubious assertion to another. This has been the story throughout his whole health care crusade. Its original premise was that our current financial crisis was rooted in neglect of three things -- energy, education and health care. That transparent attempt to exploit Emanuel's Law -- a crisis is a terrible thing to waste -- failed for health care because no one is stupid enough to believe that the 2008 financial collapse was caused by a lack of universal health care."

And these liberal nimrods wonder why the American people are upset.

House Overwhelmingly Votes to Suspend Acorn Funding

"Sept. 17 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. House of Representatives voted today to cut off all federal funding for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now after reports that some of the group’s employees gave tax and housing advice to people who said they ran a prostitution business.

The motion passed 345-75 during debate on legislation to end federally subsidized private student loans. The bill now goes to the Senate."

A list of the 75 partners in ACORN's crime is here. They are all democrats ('natch).

This comes on the heels of Monday's vote in the Senate to block all grant money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development directed toward ACORN.

Now, who are the decades past congressional *sswipes who allowed funding of these quasi-commie perverts in the first frikken place??!!

Let's not get fooled again, people.

2008: Jimmy Carter Calls Candidate Obama a "Black Boy"

Updated below)

Biden thought Obama 'clean & articulate'. But, it's Joe Wilson who's racist.

i don't know the proper meaning of racism
True, Carter's words are the innocuous ruminations of an ol' white Southern Democrat, but imagine the pounds of flesh that would have been demanded if Palin, Gingrich, or Limbaugh had uttered that terminology.

Meanwhile, Ol' Jimmy continues to defend his title as "The. Worst. President. Ever."

Update: Moronic race pimp claims Joe Wilson has inspired the KKK to ride again. Or something. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - the difference between conservative nutjobs & liberal nutjobs is that liberals elect theirs to office.

Fables for Adults

"Today we are living in a time when the President of the United States is telling us that he is going to help us take that other dog's bone away-- and the end result is likely to be very much like what it was in that children's fable.

Whether we are supposed to take that bone away from the doctors, the hospitals, the pharmaceutical companies or the insurance companies, the net result is likely to be the same-- most of us will end up with worse medical care than we have available today. We will have opened our mouth and dropped a very big bone into the water."

Obama Risks Media Over-Exposure

Uh, I think that ship has already sailed, Jake.

(I found this graphic at a blog nobody reads.)

Despite the Left's giddy glee at the FOX Network's hemorrhage of ad dollars from political bomb thrower Glenn Beck's time slot, Beck still managed to pummel CNN & MSNBC, combined, with his 9/12 March on Washington coverage VS those networks coverage of another Obama appearance - this time in Minnesota.

Like third world, mid-east, or commie countries where the local 'dear leader' image is ubiquitous, familiarity breeds contempt, and doubly so for an aggressively boorish entertainer who Just. Won't. Shut. Up.

WARNING: "Attention whore" perimeter breach is imminent.

Jake Tapper writes:

"Obama will be interviewed Sunday on five shows -- ABC News' "This Week With George Stephanopoulos," CNN's "State of the Nation," CBS's "Face the Nation", NBC's "Meet the Press" and Univision's "Al Punto with Jorge Ramos" -- in what is called a "full Ginsburg."

In modern media lore, the first time someone pulled the five-show feat was 11 years ago, in 1998, when Monica Lewinsky's attorney, William Ginsburg, made the rounds to defend his client. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., did a full Ginsburg in 2007 after launching her presidential bid."

Obama will not appear on Fox News Sunday, but he will make an appearance on Letterman & the George Lopez comedy show.

I bet he doesn't dance on Ellen's show ever again, though.

Obama Asked ACORN to Help Set W.H. Agenda; ABC's Gibson Pleads Ignorance of ACORN Agenda

The perverse & corrupt, gub'mint funded ACORN had their collectivist hand(s) slammed in the cookie jar over the weekend.

It seems that ACORN's definition of organizing a community includes helping pimps avoid detection & taxes when they set up whore houses populated with illegal alien teen girls sold into sex slavery. (Is it organized crime, yet??)

The Census Bureau had already wisely severed ties last week. ACORN now faces being slapped off the multi-million dollar gub'mint teet.

But, ABC's World News Tonight anchor, pompous ol' Charlie, claims not to know a thing about ACORN - or their doctrine of moral turpitude.

Poor ignorant Charlie Gibson.

He thought knew plenty, as a condescending father figure, during his interview on the campaign trail last year, with Sarah Palin, when he asked her about 'the Bush Doctrine'. Turns out both were horribly ignorant on the subject.

Poor ignorant Charlie Gibson.

You'd think he would pay more attention to the organization that candidate Obama said would help shape his presidential agenda.

Must be an embarrassingly large memory hole over at ABC.

Reason Number 230 Kalifornia Needs to Slide Off into the Pacific

The difference between conservative nutjobs and liberal nutjobs is that liberals elect theirs to office.

Representative Pete Stark (D - Cali.) has a disgusting history of 'raving mad' outbursts and caustic behavior. His latest childish display was directed at a constituent: "I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg."

Oh. According to USAToday's Crowd-Size Estimator, 47 million marched on Washington D.C. this past weekend (but only if you include ten million illegal aliens.)

Meanwhile, fewer see accuracy or fairness in the Press.

"Just 29% of Americans say that news organizations generally get the facts straight, while 63% say that news stories are often inaccurate. In the initial survey in this series about the news media’s performance in 1985, 55% said news stories were accurate while 34% said they were inaccurate. That percentage had fallen sharply by the late 1990s and has remained low over the last decade."

The NY Times & the WSJ have the lowest favorable ratings, while CNN & FOX have the highest favorable ratings. Television was the dominant source for nat'l & int'l news, but radio was the last place source for both categories. The internet & newspapers split the middle ground.

And last, but not least, the lovely 'boob czar' finally makes her appearance during the March on Washington. (lots n lots of pictures that are safe for work)

"Apparently the filmmakers are part millipede, because shoe #3 fell over the weekend -- a third ACORN office (Brooklyn) with more "rogue" ACORN employees eagerly helping set up the brothel for underage illegal alien sex slaves.

I'll go out on a limb and predict ACORN's response: more firings, more legal threats."

I'm Glad Joe Wilson(R) Apologized for His Outburst When Obama Lied

Wilson's outburst was bad form, and there's no place for it in an august body, such as Congress (i'm trying to keep a straight face).

But the same can be said for lying. Pres. Obama is fond of promoting the lie that 45 million Americans are uninsured. Not true. Ten million of that 45 figure are either here illegally or not citizens, at all.

If there's no intention of providing gub'mint care, why not say 35 million?

Senator Obama had the intention to provide illegals with gub'mint care, back in 2006, when he co-sponsored Hillary Clinton's bill.

Perhaps he's had a change of liberal heart in three short years, but I doubt it.

Obama has no formal health care plan of his own, and the ones worming their way through the house and senate both specifically deny illegals coverage, but - like the democrat phobia against voter photo I.D. - there's no requirement for people who apply for gub'mint care to provide proof of citizenship.

So, like W.I.C., medicaid, gub'mint schools, and other entitlement programs, there's no deterent for illegals to access the system - almost by design:

"In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability."

Related:
"A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey conducted Tuesday and Wednesday nights finds that 44% favor the plan while 53% are opposed. These numbers are little different than those in late August."

Doing The Same Thing Over & Over and Expecting Different Results

What's the word?

What Obama Says vs. What He Does

"The most important thing about what anyone says are not the words themselves but the credibility of the person who says them.

The words of convicted swindler Bernie Madoff were apparently quite convincing to many people who were regarded as knowledgeable and sophisticated. If you go by words, you can be led into anything.

No doubt millions of people will be listening to the words of President Barack Obama Wednesday night when he makes a televised address to a joint session of Congress on his medical care plans. But, if they think that the words he says are what matters, they can be led into something much worse than being swindled out of their money."

Theft. Endangerment. Destruction of property. Putting people out of work.

And they probably did it whilst bitterly clinging to their Bibles.

Oh. Wait.

It's dirty hippie, eco-terrorist lefties who claim responsibility.

From those 'activist' sympathizers at CNN:

"A group (The Earth Liberation Front -ELF) cited by U.S. officials as a domestic terrorism threat claimed responsibility Friday for knocking down two radio station towers in Snohomish County, Washington..."

The radio station remained on the air by using a backup transmitter site.

"In its news release, the ELF describes itself as "an international underground organization that uses direct action in the form of economic sabotage to stop the systematic exploitation and destruction of the planet. Since its inception in North America in 1996, the ELF has inflicted well over $150 million in damages to corporations and governmental agencies that are profiting from the destruction of the Earth."

We'll wait for the crickets to stop chirping for the MSM to get all apoplectic about 'radicals'.

Pres. Obama Revises School Speech Again

A Scrappleface exclusive:

"If you want to grow up to be like me, you should beg your parents to put you in private school, right now."

Although Obama attended public school in Indonesia early in life, he soon switched to a private Catholic school, and from fifth grade through graduation went to a private college-prep school in Hawaii. His own daughters now attend a private school in Washington D.C..

"Do you think you're going to get into Harvard University with your one-size-fits-all public school diploma?" the president will reportedly say."

The President finally tells the truth to our nation's skulls full o' mush.

Update: Armchair editors are still demanding changes. The speech contains the word "I" 56 times. But, who's counting?

Parents Sue Cali. Schools Over Mandatory 'Gay' Friendly Classes

Reason Number 229 Kalifornia Needs to Slide Off into the Pacific.

"Parents in the Alameda Unified School District were refused the right to excuse their kids from classes that would teach all kids in the district's elementary schools about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender alternative families.

The parents say they are concerned about "indoctrination" in the schools, but administrators say the course is needed to protect against sexual discrimination — and that the lessons are protected by laws in California and 10 other states."

WJDND - What Jesus Did Not Do

This is a repost.

Jesus did not say, "The poor in our society can be middle class with more gub'mint funding."

Jesus did not approach the Sanhedrin to demand a tithe on Temple goers to clothe the naked & feed the hungry.

Jesus did not petition the Senate in Rome to levy a tax on all subjects in order to do medical research and heal the sick.

Jesus did not end the parable of The Good Samaritan with a guilt trip to goad the townspeople to pay for the expenses of others with confiscated wealth.

Jesus did not promise an earthly utopia through political solutions or judicial fiat.

All the miracles that Jesus performed were designed to point to His divine nature and the truth of His Word of Heavenly salvation - not to solve the earthly dilemmas of sickness, hunger & poverty.

In short, these incendiary, health-care reform ideologues pontificating about WWJD seem to be outright ignorant of Biblical knowledge and down right bereft of wisdom in their h3ll bent rush for power.

Frank Schaeffer Finally Gets One Right

"Three months ago, Frank Schaeffer blamed the murder of George Tiller on his late father, Francis. It was an especially dishonest smear since anyone who can read can the elder Schaeffer’s work can discover for themselves that he explicitly ruled out violence and made clear that theocracy was never a goal of the “religious right.”

Now here we are three months later and Frank is hawking a new book."

The BHA's news release states that "The zoo, which advances creationism, seeks to discredit a wide variety of established scientific facts that challenge their religious views, such as radio carbon dating, the fossil record and the speed of light."

Fed Workers Receive Raise; Unemployment Nears 10%

I'm from da gub'mint, and I'm here to help - the gub'mint.

Ty SCA

"In an Aug. 31 letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Obama said he would use his power to reduce the federal employee pay raise set for January 2010 from 2.4 percent to 2.0 percent.

“The growth in federal requirements is straining the federal budget,” wrote Obama. His letter said a 2.4 percent increase would cost $19.9 billion more than the 2 percent increase he proposed in his 2010 budget.

The Congressional Budget Office last week set the fiscal year deficit at $1.6 trillion, the highest deficit ever in the post-World War II era. The Office of Management and Budget estimated the 10-year deficit to 2019 had expanded from $7 trillion to $9 trillion."

Only in the la-la land of D.C. can a net increase be spun into savings.

Meanwhile, Unemployment rate creeps closer to 10%.
"It was the highest rate since 1983, up from 9.4 percent in July.

Some economists found a hint of good news in the Labor Department report issued Friday.

Although employers cut 216,000 jobs in August, it was the smallest monthly loss in a year, below the revised figure of 276,000 in July.

"The trend is in the right direction," said national economic forecaster Joel Naroff, who took the slowing layoff rate as another sign that the recession is easing.

Economists have seen evidence of increasing industrial production in recent months, giving rise to expectations that the output of goods and services is rebounding.

But the probability that future job losses will push the rate past 10 percent also raises fears that nervous consumers will continue to curb spending and squash the budding recovery."

Only in the la-la land of economic forecasts can a continued loss be spun into an increase.

But, my, oh my, how times have changed now that a magic unicorn trods the lanes of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Google Algorithm Predicts When Species Will Go 404, Not Found

"Scientists have long known that the extinction of key species in a food web can cause collapse of the entire system, but the vast number of interactions between species makes it difficult to guess which animals and plants are the most important. Now, computational biologists have adapted the Google search algorithm, called PageRank, to the problem of predicting ecological collapse, and they’ve created a startlingly accurate model."

Really? What ecosystem or systems have collapsed to verify the model?

Granted, some of these folks offer up pragmatic ideas for bettering their community (meet my neighborhood, conserve energy, be a hospital volunteer, mentor someone, etc), while others simply regurgitate vague, self-indulgent tripe (save our planet, end slavery, health care for all, save the children, etc.).

Of course, all this ends with a solemn pledge to support Barack Obama and all of mankind - as if the two were somehow wonderously intertwined in a magical unicorn forest, and could never have been possible until The One ascended Pennsylvania Avenue.

What appeared so profound to me were these good ideas are what tens of millions of Faithful hear almost any Sunday, from any Preacher, in any Christian Church. L.A. County Fires from Earth & Space

A pictorial. Click picture for more in this series.

WW II era amphibious air tanker called the Martin Mars helps to contain the massive wildfire.

This wildfire is terrible in its devastation and loss of life, but the saddest part is that this fire ( like all the others before it) was entirely predictable and preventable - if the misguided patchouli sniffing, Gaia worshipers weren't ruling from on high in L.A. County:

"Could more have been done to clear tinder-dry hillsides and canyons?

"We don't necessarily disagree with that," Bear said. "We weren't able to complete what we wanted to do."

Some critics suggested that protests from environmentalists contributed to the disaster, which came after the brush was allowed to build up for as much as 40 years.

"This brush was ready to explode," said Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, whose district overlaps the forest. "The environmentalists have gone to the extreme to prevent controlled burns, and as a result we have this catastrophe today."

But the A.P. headline writers were keen to put the malfeasance on 'the feds'.

Rep. Rangel Must Resign as Chairman of House Ways Means Committee

From those hard right ideologues at WaPo:

"We called on Mr. Rangel to resign his coveted post last November while the House ethics committee probed his contact with a potential donor to a pet project who also had business before the committee. Mind you, that committee already was looking into his using official stationery to raise funds for that pet project, paying below-market rents on four Harlem apartments, failing to report income from a Florida condominium sale and failing to pay taxes on a home in the Dominican Republic. There's another subcommittee investigation into lobbyist-paid trips by Mr. Rangel and four other members of Congress."

Pelosi Won't Yank Rangel's Gavel; Keeps Chairmanship

From those rim shot writers at The Hill:

"Growing ethical turmoil surrounding Rangel has prompted calls for Pelosi to yank Rangel’s gavel. Rep. Darrel Issa (R-Calif.) on Wednesday called on Rangel to release his tax returns. He also said Democratic leaders should yank Rangel’s Ways and Means chairmanship if he refuses or if the returns show tax reporting violations.

“There’s enough [failures to disclose assets] that it’s starting to look more like a pattern…the public has a right to know if he pays his taxes and if he has a pattern of not paying his taxes,” Issa said in an interview with The Hill. “If he failed to file his taxes in any of these circumstances, he should not be allowed to be the chairman of the tax-writing committee.”"

Rangel's criminal hubris, in the guise of Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, the committee that decides tax policy, is well documented with a 17 point bullet list by lawhawk. A list that would have you or I in prison.
"But Democratic aides say that Pelosi will not pressure Rangel to resign his post or censure him publicly unless the House ethics committee finds him guilty of misconduct or a prosecutor brings charges."

That's because this Congress is extremely transparent & ethical. Of course.

TY to these giggling malcontents.

I knew that would get your attention, but I will disappoint by repeating Mark Steyn's question "Do you notice anything shrivelling?"

I'm sure my wife would have a different perspective on this story than I.

Steyn's point is well taken. History is replete with nations which trade personal fortitude and national integrity for self-indulgence & public decadence. The euro-socialist nanny states are a prime example, which the U.S. of A. seems h3ll bent on importing over here.

Our dumbed down kids can't find Korea on a map, spell properly, or calculate change for sawbuck, but they can organize 'lewinski parties', find inter tube pr0n, get 'tramp stamped', and fear what P.C. fresh h3ll awaits them for not embracing LGBT.

Suicide Bomber Sticks It Up His 4ss; Blows It Off

Confirming Al Qaida is queer.

Al-Qaida claims attack that injured Saudi prince.

"Saudi officials have said the prince was lightly wounded in the bombing at his home in Jiddah Thursday night while he was receiving well-wishers for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. If al-Qaida's claim proves to be true, it would be an embarrassment for the prince and his father, two of the kingdom's top anti-terrorism officials. Prince Nayef is a half brother of Saudi King Abdullah and one of the most powerful members of the royal family.

"You tyrants ... your bastions and fortifications will not prevent us from reaching you. We will come to you soon," al-Qaida warned in an Internet statement. The authenticity of the message could not be independently verified, but it was posted on militant Web sites often used by al-Qaida.

In one version of the events, Al-Arabiya, a Saudi-owned television network, said the attacker concealed the explosives in his anus, allowing him to evade detection. The network also quoted an expert as saying that the method of concealment aimed the blast away from the target, while blowing the bomber to bits."

A bad end, so to speak.
"The attack was the first attempt against a member of the royal family in decades and was also the first significant attack by militants in the kingdom since 2006. Saudi Arabia has waged a fierce crackdown on al-Qaida militants in the country. It has killed or captured most of their leaders after a string of attacks that started in 2003."
